Apparently you don't want the lines to be similar or the test line to be darker than the control. The lines look similar to me...

Anyone have experience with these tests or know what I should do now? DH and I have only been trying for 6 cycles with a chemical after 2 cycles. Any information would be appreciated...

I don't know much about the tests, but if I were you, I would call my doctor and see about getting some bloodwork done or getting a referral to a RE. I hope it's just fluke test, though!

What cycle day were you on when you took the test?

I took one on Wednesday and freaked myself out completely because it was darker than that. But then read that you shouldn't take them if you have been on hormonal birth control or pregnant within the last 60 days- duh. Which was stupid because I've been holding on to this test since august and have read the stupid directions a million times.

But- yours looks fine. The test line can be there, just not darker then the control line. I would say your in the safe zone still. Were you cycle day 3?

I took one too (because it was free in my HPT box), and mine was kind of like yours, maybe the test line was just a tad lighter...I wouldn't worry too much, but maybe you can call your doctor and ask about it? GL

Yes, I took it this morning, day 3. I'm completely freaking myself out about this. I'm glad to hear that others have gotten similar results. Looking online, they start talking about menopause and shriveled up eggs (not really but kinda). I'm only 29, I shouldn't be having a problem yet...uhg.

Sam - I haven't been on birth control or been pregnant within 60 days...

Nicole - I think I will give my doctor a call just to see what they think of those tests...

I didn't get one (In with the pregnancy tests) until AFTER I got pregnant... I took it at about 10 weeks and it was completely blank. I just wanted to pee on something!

I think you only need to be concerned if the line is DARKER then the control line. Also urine isn't incredibly accurate. I think they use blood at the drs office...

I took one but my line was a lot lighter than that. Who knows if it's even accurate.

Yeah I'm trying to relax....I called my dr's office this afternoon and they had already left for the day...who doesn't work at 230 on friday? Whatever.

Lindsay - it tests the levels of your follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) early in your cycle (day 3). This is a explaination I found online that is easy to understand...

Think of it like stepping on the gas pedal in the car to get going. The FSH is the gas, and the pituitary gland releases FSH to get a follicle "going" at the beginning of every menstrual cycle. If there are less follicles left (and perhaps lower quality follicles) the amount of "gas" has to be increased to get a follicle developing.

So, a dark test line early in your cycle means you are producing lots of FSH and you either have low quality eggs or not many eggs in your ovaries..
