Should I still be bleeding if my D&E was a week and a half ago? I'm not comfortable going to a follow-up appointment yet, to be honest. I don't want to be around a bunch of pregnant chicks so I'm not going to the doctor until I feel better...hence me asking you guys.

I am a bad one to give you advice. After my d&c in August I bled for about three weeks on and off. I also had a lot of complications.

I was told that if I was still bleeding 3 weeks after my D&E and even after my natural miscarriage that I needed to be seen...I bled for a long time, but I had complications, so I think that's why they want to check you after 3 weeks to make sure nothing major is going on.

Ah, okay. Then I will take your doctor's advice, Megan, and make an appointment if I'm still bleeding in 3 weeks. It's on and off and I thought it was done but last night out of nowhere I started bleeding really heavily! The doctor I had was obviously a little clueless about the after-effects since he said that I would only bleed a tiny bit and I would get AF in 3 weeks, ha.

Yes, 3 weeks AFTER you had it done if you are still bleeding please call...I don't think you know my full story...I was told 3 weeks after I had it done that I was getting AF when I started to bleed bright red blood...My spotting had never stopped, and I was 15 weeks along, so I knew that it wasn't AF...I let it go on for 12 days, bleeding very badly till I got so sick I had to drive myself to the hospital...Come to find out I was hemorrhaging, and I needed a D&C and 2 blood transfusions...If I had waited any longer thinking it was AF, who knows what would of happened to me...when I had another US done they thought it was retained tissue...I didn't find out for a couple weeks later that it was something else...When I had the D&E done, it must of damaged an artery in my uterus, and they should of never given me another D&C...Then when I had another miscarriage after I had prolonged bleeding again, and because of that they kept a closer eye on me, and I was told that if the bleeding was still going on at 3 weeks that they wanted to give me an ultrasound to be safe (and yes I Had the same problem again, but luckily it fixed itself after like 6 weeks)...So any way, please if your bleeding (especially red) in another week or two, please call...It sucks and I know it's not fun to go back to the doctor's office, but you also still have to think of your health...If it weren't for so many on this board being worried about me when I was bleeding to death, I probably wouldn't of gone to the hospital.

After my D&C I bled for 2 weeks and then spotted another week and a half and it turns out I have retained tissue, that I just found out about a 2 weeks ago - and my D&C was Oct 13! What I was told is if you're bleeding/spotting more than 2 weeks, go get checked out. I wish I had so I could have found out about it sooner and got it taken care of earlier, instead of NOW..
Good luck hon

Thank you guys. It's turning brown now so maybe it's at the end? IDK this is frustrating...
