Supplements for luteal phase?

I've been noticing that I've had some REALLY short luteal phases lately... as short as 6-7 days. I'm already taking B6, but not sure what else to try?

I've read that progesterone cream can help lengthen LP, but I don't know exactly what to buy or where to get it. Help?

I'd really like to try some natural help for a couple cycles before I give in and ask the doctor for something. Most of the doctors where I go are idiots and treat me like I'm stupid (teaching hospital), so I'd probably end up hurting one of them before I got what I wanted anyway.

GNC and vitaminshoppe.com carry progesterone creams. Not too sure how well they work though. Have you looked into an endometrial biopsy?

My naturopath had me on Fertility Blend to help balance my cycle (I had a short-ish LP last year before I conceived my baby boy, and the Fertility Blend did help. I think vitex is also supposed to help with luteal phase issues...but also like the FB it can take 4 to 8 weeks for it to start showing effects. You can buy a natural progesterone cream (I used to get it at whole foods) you just have to make sure you use it after you O otherwise it can delay ovulation.

(normally a lurker here, will do an intro soon as we're just getting back on the ttc bandwagon after losing our boy 36 hours after his birth at term in September)

oh, also the progesterone cream I used was emerita brand.

Just adding my two cents to what lulumama said. Many, many months ago I tried Vitex to see if it would help with my bad PMS. My next period ended up lasting nearly two weeks. It's a great suggestion, just be wary of it.

Be careful about Vitex, if you don't have irregular cycles, it can actually make you irregular and cause you problems that weren't there previously. The only natural suggestion I have heard of is B6 and I'm not sure I'd take progesterone without at least just asking a doc about it first. Good luck!!
