Hi ladies,
So I'm brand new to this board, as of this morning...went in this morning for my second ultrasound - slow heartbeat and size last week (6w, 2d)...and the heartbeat was gone and the fetal pole was absent. Needless to say, we're heartbroken, DH and I...we waited until my ripe age of 37 to start trying, and this makes m/c # 3 for me (had one in 1996, another last year which was before we started trying! and now this one). Getting a D&C tomorrow...then will find out what went wrong (molar, trophoblastic disease, nothing at all...) and then will try again if the docs say its ok.

A little sad to be joining this group, but on the other hand...its good to have other ladies who know what I"m going through and can understand!

I'm so sorry for your loss. And don't let the age thing get to you. I was 39 when I had DS. Getting ready to turn 40 at the end of this month.

Also feel free to join us over at TTC Older Members- there are a few of us who are both here and over there.

Hope everything goes smoothly with your D&C tomorrow.

Thank you so much for the support!! And especially the positive vibes from us over 35 ladies :-)

Am a little bit (ok a lot!!!) nervous about tomorrow morning's D&C, luckily they'll sedate me so apparently it shouldn't be horribly painful...although one never knows. I think I'm dreading the moment it "hits" me...that I am no longer pregnant. I hate that empty feeling... :-(

But...I'm hoping the news is good, that whatever has been going wrong is preventable or can be mitigated...and that we can start trying again soon.
