I spent yesterday evening in the ER. I started having severe pain on my left side down low. I also started bleeding a little bit yesterday evening. When I went to the bathroom I had blood on my underware about the size of a quater. I put a pad on right away and went back and checked the pad about half hour later. No blood on the pad. I only had blood when I wiped. Sorry guys if to much information. Since the pain wasn't letting up and I was worried about the bleeding I had DH take me to the ER to see if I was miscarrying or what was going on. They did a lot of blood work and did two ultrasounds. They did a regular ultrasound and a trans ultrasounds. Both Er doctors said don't worry if we don't see anything on the ultrasound since we don't know exactly know when I conceived the baby. If you go my LMP I am 5 Weeks and some days. Since the m/c my cycles have been off. I think I O'd late this month. I think we conceived around November 19th. The hospital is going by my LMP. They tested my HCG level at the ER last night also and tested my Thyroid levels. On Thursday when my doctor tested my HCG level it was 285. The ER HCG test was 275. (the doctor said the numbers could be off because of different labs). The Er doctor said my thyroid levels were really low. Since I had thyroid cancer they are going to let my regular doctor adjust my meds. They didn't retest my progestogen level which was low on Tuesday at 8.8 since the doctor put me on pills for that. I wish someone would retest my progestogen level to see if it came up any with the pills I am on. The doctor didn't see anything on the regular u/s or the trans u/s concerning the baby. This has me real worried that they didn't see anything. The doctor kept saying it could just be to early to see anything and with my tilted uterus it is making it harder to see since I am not that far along and my hsg level is still low. I just wish they would have seen something. The only thing they saw on the u/s was I have a small cyst on my left ovary. The ER doctor said my pain is probably coming from the cyst. As far as the bleeding she said it could be coming from three things. 1) From the cyst 2) from the low progestogen level 3) I could be having a m/c. The pain has almost went away and the bleeding has stopped. They told me I am pelvic rest until other wise told and I am to take it easy this weekend. I am to follow up with my regular doctor on Monday. The ER doctor also told me I am a high risk pregnancy which she is the only one that has told me that. So I don't know if my ob handles high risk pregnancy or not. I am going to keep praying the bleeding stays stopped and my HCG levels go way up by Monday. Does anyone know when something should show up on an u/s or have any input on me not seeing anything on the u/s yet? Does anyone know anything about being pregnant and having a cyst? Sorry if this is so long ladies. I am real worried.

I had throid cancer about two years ago now. My regular doctor and my thryoid cancer doctor just checked my levels and they said they were fine so I don't know what made them so low. Thanks for the prayers. I hope it is just to early to show anything.

When I was 4w5d and hcg 1894, we couldn't see anything on the u/s. I was being watched for a repeat ectopic and was totally freaking out since a nurse told me we should really see something with my hcg that high. (Off/odd hcg #'s are somewhat associated with ectopics.) At 5w4d, suddenly there was an intrauterine gestational sac with a yolk sac, but no fetal pole or h/b yet. These dates are based on when I ovulated, from OPKs - I O'd a few days late so my LMP dating was off.
Also, I had some brief painless bleeding at 5w5d - more than you described, it was enough to soak my underwear bright red and then I had brown spotting for several days. No pain though. Later on I had some more bleeding problems (8w, 10w, etc), but it's resolved now (it was SCHs).
It sounds like your pain is totally explainable by the cyst. It could even be the corpus luteum. I had a large ovarian cyst (it didn't hurt me much, but I could feel it) on u/s at 4w5d and it had shrunk by 5w4d, they said it was the corpus luteum. You might just be more sensitive and feel the pain more.
I'm almost 16 weeks along now, but those scary early days of the pregnancy feel like yesterday. I know how stressful it is, you just want to see in there and know EXACTLY what is going on, but they really can't give you 100% certainty. You just have to wait and see. It really sucks. Lots of sticky vibes hun and just try to get through the next couple weeks!!!!

I have no answers, only prayers and hugs for you! i hope everything is ok!
Regarding your thyroid... I had Graves disease and had the radioactive iodine done to kill it years ago. Now that I have a non functioning thyroid I am on Synthroid. I typically take 125mcg daily, but my Endo upped the dose to 137 with TTC. I am to call him immediately when I get a BFP and he'll have me double up on pills one or two days a week. Does your endo know you are TTC? Is your thyroid functioning at all? Scary what an off thyroid can do to our bodies!

It would be too early to see anything on u/s. I had spotting a few days after AF was due. Also tons of cramping. I've also had cysts while pregnant. I had a cyst that was bigger than the baby but it eventually shrank. It caused lots of sharp stabbing pains though. I hope everything is ok and you have a sticky bean in there. Hang in there.

Thank you sharing your story with me. It gives me lots of hope.
Thank you Lori, Nicole for the sticky vibes.
Rebecca I was hoping you answer this. You said what I was thinking that it is just to early to see anything.
Lisa. i don't have a thyroid anymore. They removed the whole thyroid when they found the cancer and I had the radioactive iodine to make sure they all of the cancer. I am on Synthroid. I take 200 mcg every day. When I met with my endo doctor I did tell him that I am ttc. He didn't say anything. He dosen't watch my levels as well as my regular doctor. I am going to get a retest on Monday of my thyroid levels and call my regular doctor to let him know that I am pregnant and what the ER said.
The bleeding started a little bit this morning but has stopped again. I really haven't moved off the couch today. Not moving keeps the pain down and I think helpes the bleeding to stop.

I know everytime i've been pregnant since havng my thyroid removed, I had a blood draw right away, and then every 4 weeks after...My Thyroid doctor was always so good about keeping up on my thyroid (I had cancer while pregnant, and I think he felt bad that the baby died, so he's been extra careful I think)...Any way, I haven't had the radioactive iodine treatment yet, and it's been 14 months since my surgery...He's keeping a close eye on it for now (ultrasounds, bloodwork) and he's not making me get it done till after I have another baby...Good luck Stacey, I hope you get it worked out and everything turns out great!

Corpus Luteum Cysts in Pregnancy and Conception
Cysts can be quite common. I've had cysts in each of my successful pregnancies.
Corpus luteum cysts form after an egg is released from a sac called a follicle. After the egg is released, the follicle is known as a corpus luteum. The corpus luteum releases progesterone and estrogen to prepare the uterus for pregnancy. If no pregnancy occurs, the corpus luteum normally breaks down and disappears on its own.
Sometimes, however, corpora lutea (plural form of "corpus luteum") may seal and fill with fluid or blood, forming corpus luteum cysts. Women who are on birth control pills usually won't form corpus luteum cysts, as birth control pills prevent ovulation. Certain fertility drugs that induce ovulation increase the chance of having these types of cysts.
Corpus luteum cysts are typically round and fluid-filled, ranging in size from two to six centimeters or more in diameter.
If a woman gets pregnant with corpus luteum cysts, the pregnancy is unlikely to suffer any ill effects. This type of ovarian cyst tends to diminish over time; if a cyst is present at the beginning of pregnancy, it may not disappear until the second trimester.

I've had cysts with every successful and every loss... so I figured it was just normal for me. So I wouldn't stress the cyst.

and of course you have my prayers hon!!
Keep an eye on that pain, if it is persistant, more bleeding, fever or severe pain and heavy bleeding go back to the ER and tell them! It would be possible it could be ectopic and that's nothing to play with. I've lost my left tube because of it, it wasn't treated soon enough.

Thank you ladies for all of your prayers. I couldn't sleep last night thinking about the blood test this morning. Praying my HCG number went way up.
