BFN as I expected and I was a bit sad but then I had my apt with the Professor at the hospital and it was a great apt. He was so compassionate and caring and didnt rush me out. Offered me some tea or coffee and some tissues. I lost it. I knew this day would be hard but he made it easy.

He confirmed that our risk is only 1% so that to me is really good news!!!! I was thinking if the numbers were worse that I would want to stop ttc. He did say that if I choose to have the afp blood tests done that it could make my numbers even better.

It gets better, he will do all my scans and get me in for an early scan!!! Love this doctor. He is sending me contact numbers if I do get pregnant so that they can start the ball rolling sooner.

And even better.....he is a Christian and we talked about God, it was so nice and it really put me at ease.

I left and phoned Mick right away (he had to stay with the kids, still sick) and I was so happy and crying and he is so happy too.

So thats my update, now onto the next cycle with my cbfm!

That's such great news. I'm so glad you were able to talk with someone who was caring and could talk things over with you. It must be such a relief to know the percentages are on your side. Now on to TTC

Your appointment sounds excellent, those are incrediable numbers... you're very lucky to have such a low percentage.

Overall it sounds like a fabulous experience and I'm glad that you found such a great match with your new doctor!!

Thanks so much, it was such a good day and felt so sureal talking to my doctor about God. Loved it.

It's funny when you really think about that percentage because that is actually what most docs consider a positive for a chromosome disorder but all I can see is that my baby has a 90% chance of being ok and I'll take it.
