Lizzy, I'm sorry for your loss

My first miscarriage happened when I was just a little further along than you - I was 6 weeks. And honestly, other than one clot that I noticed, it was just like a regular period. I didn't even have much cramping and had bleeding for 4-5 days. So I don't necessarily agree with Shadeauxe that you should pass a lot more clots (sorry Shadeauxe). That would be more likely if you were as far along as she was - there's a bit difference between 5 and 9 weeks in terms of the amount of tissue/blood (sorry, don't know how else to put it) that needs to be passed. Of course anything is possible but I don't want you to be afraid and expecting the worst to come. With that said, I would expect more bleeding than what you described, something more like a regular flow/period, not just a night of bleeding.
I agree with Megan that unless you've had blood work or an ultrasound you can't really confirm it's a miscarriage. Lots of women bleed (and some quite heavily) and everything turns out fine. I don't want to get your hopes up too high but it is possibe you're not miscarrying. Regardless of whether you bleed more or not, I would go for serial betas at the doctor's to confirm either way..
When it comes to getting your period, it really depends.. you can expect it in 4-6 weeks probably.. I wish you the best!
