Just curious...If you have a longer cycle does that mean AF is going to be heavier?

I have heavy AF usually, and not normally long cycles...This cycle was long for me (31 days) and i'm dying from this heavy AF...It's like twice as worse and clotty (sorry for TMI) than usual...I can't even get anything done, and was up half the night getting up to use the bathroom...I couldn't even temp this morning because I was up so much last night...and i'm getting twinges in my uterus! I was for like 2 days before AF started...It's the weirdest feeling...almost like baby flutters but stronger.

Megan, I used to have really long cycles and I always had pretty light periods, so at least for me, cycle length had nothing to do with how heavy AF would be. Keep an eye on it, hon. If it gets too heavy, please call your doctor.

I am having a really heavy and long A/F this cycle to. I am on day 5 and typically it is already gone by now but I am still having decent bleeding.

I hope mine is short...In the past before my miscarriages it was heavy, but only like 3-4 days...I at least hope the heavy flow only lasts today and slows down by tomorrow.

I don't think it depends on cycle length either. Before my mc my cycles were exactly 30 days long and I had heavy 7 day periods. After my mc, I had 31-34 day cycles and really light AF that at most lasted 5 days. I think our bodies just decide to change on occasion. Hopefully, it will lessen up and won't even come next cycle.

I think most of depends on how thick your lining gets each month. When I was taking Clomid my lining did not get thick at all and my flow was really light. Since my last loss my cycle went from 21 to 25 days and the flow is actually a little lighter.

Our bodies are complicated!!

Thanks for the input ladies! i've had a busy day (on my feet working), so that probably didn't help...I think it's slowed down now, so i'm not as worried!

I've always had long/irregular cycles and I would say like Nicole, it didn't seem to have an affect on how heavy AF was... I would say my flow typically normal, with one heavy day. (Although, remembering some of your past posts, my definition of heavy is nothing like your definition of heavy!)

My cycles are 33-35 days and I bleed for less than 48 hours. It's not a thin lining on my part either. This last cycle it was measuring a 12 (which is very thick).
