Let me start you off with a picture:
This is my view from my backyard. It's not zoomed in, it was just taken.
I'm super freaked out. A few years ago we had major flooding, and many of the houses in my area, were evacuated, and then lost in the river. It might be happening again. The edge of the river is about 15 feet from my house give or take. This river is usually about five feet wide and at most a foot deep. And it's still supposed to rain for the next three days.
We've had helicopters flying around all day, and city workers coming out to look at it. I'm super worried that we'll have to be evacuated too. There's two major rivers in town, and they both seem to be doing the same thing. The thing is--when it happened last time they took precautions to prevent it from happening again, it just doesn't seem to be doing much.
I'm going to stay at home as much as I can today, and keep my eye on it--but until this rain lets up--i'm one big bundle of nerves, and worries.
Sorry, just had to get this off of my chest.
