Anyone else have experience with this? I was prescribed this medicine to help expel whatever tiny particles might be stuck in the lining in order to hopefully avoid a D&C (freaks me out). I am just wondering how good/bad it is. I hate taking medicines, but I don't want to get an infection either.

The generic of this is methotrexate. It's used for many things, but one use is to help you miscarry. I hate that you have to go thru this.

Hmmm, have you been having issues with bleeding or anything? Have they been testing your hcg levels? I've only heard of this being prescribed if your hcg levels aren't dropping like they should be, or if you've had an ectopic. As long as your hcg is dropping, you know that everything has been expelled. I just had my second natural m/c, had my hcg monitored every week until it reached zero, and (knock on wood) haven't had any issues with infections either time. Sometimes it can take several weeks for your hcg to completely reach negative - my first m/c took about a month or so.

Rather than take a drug that you may not need, you might want to ask your doc for a blood test for your hcg? Good luck with whatever you decide!

I was prescribed it after my D&C, It causes your uterus to contract help expel and also help control bleeding.
I agree with the others though- have they tested your levels to see if they are dropping? Or are you bleeding heavily?

Yeah my levels have dropped from 9800 two weeks ago to about 130 as of yesterday. I still have some bleeding and the ultrasound seems to show "particulates" in the endometrium or at least they can't rule it out. My doctor, whom I haven't decided if I like, says that even through the numbers are coming down, it doesn't mean that aren't any foreign bodies in there, it just means they aren't producing any hormones. So, I don't know. This medicine doesn't seem to be doing anything other than increase my heart rate. I'm not going to take any more.

I am in Hopkinton, which is down near where 495 and 90 cross. Nice to meet someone else from MA! No one in my DDC was in New England.
