So I got home from work the other day (wed) and Dh hands me this box. I'm sorta baffled as to what the heck would be coming into the mail for me in a BOX that I couldn't help but to stand there sorta staring at him. Anyways, I run off to the bathroom to go pee and open the box afterwards... I was just amazed, started crying!!!
It was an ANGEL SOUNDS fetal heart doppler.... with the sweetest Christmas wish on the letter.
Sure makes it more real, the anticipation to listen to our little ones heartbeating away like a freight train! I cannot wait until I can sit there everyday listening and getting that reassurance. Thank you Kary, you're such an awesome friend and really know how much we needed this. You don't know what you mean to me sweetness!

I had one of those when I was pregnant with my daughter and it never worked. I heard they only work well when you are really far along like over 30 weeks.
I ended up getting a Hi-Bebe Doppler. They are more like what the DR's use and even give you a heart rate. I think about 10-11 weeks I was able to start hearing her heart beat. This was such a stress reliver because if I was not feeling her or worried I would just use this.

That was really sweet Kary!
I had a different brand and it didn't work too well for me either - but I had an anterior placenta and I think that was why. I never heard his HB but I could hear him moving around a lot in there!

I had tested it out last night on my heart, LOL, you could hear the wooshing of my blood pumping! It's amazing... sounds like the doppler my midwife had.
They had these one's back in the day 8+ years ago and they were no where near the great quality as this one is, so I'm super excited to use it!!!
Kim it definitely does depend on where the placenta is and how the babe is laying, was reading all the literature that came with it lol

Yeah mine was from 3.5 years ago so I am sure things have changed. Just do not panic if some days you can not find the babys heartbeat because its not tecnically a doppler they are more for entertainment.
The one I had from 3 years ago would pick my heart beat up right away but with all the fluid and stuff around the baby I think made it harder to find.
Once I got into about the 30 week mark it was loud enough to pick it up pretty good where other people could also hear it.
Very fun and cool gift though

FWIW I bought a Hi Bebe one and I found the heartbeat at around 9 weeks and I'm not a tiny person - earlier than a lot of women in my DDC with others. It definitely helped keep me sane in the weeks between symptoms wearing off and feeling our little guy move.

{{HUGS}} You made me cry that you posted this here! I had gotten one, I was 11 wks almost 12wks and I was able to pick up both babies... when ever I needed to know they were still with me (I know sometimes you can't.. I never had a problem NOT finding them... sometimes it took longer But once I knew were they were.... I found them!) It was such a relief to hear them. I wanted Celena to have that same feeling... Celena and I have been co-hosts together for sometime now, We have been through a lot. She is a sweet, thoughtful, awsome lady.. that I love! And I want to hear that little train! And she promised to make a recording! HUGS!!!! xoxoxoxoxo!!!!
