I had an HSG done on cycle day 10, which was the last day during my cycle that my doctor would do it. I normally ovulate on cycle day 14. Pretty much like clockwork. I have not ovulated later than day 14. However, I am on day 14 today and still negative OPK today. I have no ovulation pains, which I usually have pretty sever ovulation pain. The tube I have is mostly blocked which is why I thought maybe I felt so much pain during ovulation. Could an HSG make me ovulate later than normal? Im going in for another consultation with my fertility doctor tomorrow morning to discuss payment options for IVF. Hopefully I will be able to work something out with them to be able to start an IVF cycle.
oops, i meant I am currently on day 15 today!!

The HSG itself will not delay ovulation, but stress can. If you were stressed about the upcoming HSG, then that could be your explanation.

well i tested positive today for ovulation. im on cycle day 17. I had my appointment with the fertility doctor this morning. we are going to do ivf, but we are not going to do it until august of 2011. unfortunately, it is so expensive!! we could do it next month, but then i would be under so much stress about worrying about bills and things. i figure if we wait until august then i can pay for it all in full and not have to worry and stress out. so that is the plan! hopefully it will work the first time, because this is the one and only time we are going to try it. we will just keep praying until then.

After my HSG my ovulation was delayed about 2 weeks. Prior to the HSG my body was gearing up to O and then it just stopped. It's almost like my cycle started over. My RE said that happens often.
I hope that this is your month and that you can avoid IVF.
