Soy = Soy Isoflavones
You can buy it at Walmart for about $6 (in the vitamin section)
Walmart.com: Search Results for "soy isoflavones"
It is called "natures clomid" as it works in the same kind of way but it is natural and no prescription is necessary.
You take it for 5 nights starting on either cd 3, 4 or 5
- Starting on CD3 will help produce more follies and increase the possibility of multiples
- Starting on CD5 will help produce a better quality egg
I heard that those with pcos should not take soy (I do not remember why)
I don't thing there are any scientific studies out there on Soy but it has helped a whole lot of girls get pregnant!
I hope this helps some.

I'm not pregnant, but I do have to say that it brought on my O early!!!
I took 80mg on CD 3, then I upped it to 100mg CD 4,5,6, and 7...I've also had more CM and a higher sex drive.

I would only think about using soy as a last result before getting in touch with a fertility specialist. It can mess with your hormones since it acts like estrogen in your body. It can also be bad for people with thyroid problems and interferes with thyroid medications.

I took soy after getting BFNs for 5 cycles, and I got pg right away (twice, actually, but I lost both). My m/c had nothing to do with the soy though, so I will be using it once we can TTC again.
I took 80 mg (the minimum) on CD 2 - 6, and it moved my O date up by a few days, plus I had more noticeable O symptoms. My cycles have always been very regular and I luckily don't have any other health conditions, so I thought it was worth a shot. I'll be TTC again with my Feb/March cycle, and I'm going to mention using soy to my RE when we get cleared. I definitely think there is something to it and it's worth a shot!

Meghan - you brought up a very good point. I think everyone should do their own research on TTC with soy before taking it to make sure you feel comfortable with it.
It does temporarily change your hormones and we wouldn't want anyone to get real sick from taking it.

I agree...Don't take it unless you really feel like you need it...I only took it because of my messed up cycles the last few months...I also read that about the thyroid too...I think it was someone here that told me, she talked to her thyroid doctor and he said it was fine since you aren't taking it for a long period of time...Sorry I can't remember who told me that

I took soy in November CD3 for 5 days. I think I took 80mg. We were told we couldn't get pregnant on our own because I have PCOS. We did get pregnant. Although I lost the baby. Soy didn't have anything to do with the loss. I have very low progesterone levels and I think that effected this past baby also my thyroid levels were low. Which I don't think soy effected that. I just think they had me on to high of a dose. I did tell my endocrionlogist I was taking soy and he didn't say anything. As far as people that have PCOS should take soy I don't understand why since soy is natures clomid. My Ob who specializes in helping women with PCOS get pregnant was going to put me on clomid but we did IUI with injectables instead. I agree with everyone else you should do your own research and make sure it is right for you.
