Please, please no one take this the wrong way. I know that every single one of us wants a healthy baby, no matter what.

BUT

The thread for Shanise (sorry if I spelled that wrong) got me wondering. A lot of people asked about gender.

Do you have a gender you are leaning toward (a feeling or instinct) or are *sorta* hoping for? Like I said, I know all of us just want a healthy little sticky bean. But we are also humans and mothers (yes, we are ALL mommies...just some of our babies live in heaven) and I know that I really do want a little girl if I had the choice. I would LOVE for my son to have a brother (or two or three). But if I had a magic wand, I would want a little girl for my sticky bean

So, for those comfortable answering, do you have a gut feeling or secret wish?

You will honestly be shocked how cute the little boy stuff has gotten I love, love, love dressing Liam. Sometimes more than Julia (the little girl I nanny for who ocassionally sleeps here and I have to get her ready for school daily). I find that sometimes the little girl clothes (like from 2 onward) have gotten $lutty. Which is sad

I have 3 girls and a boy...Plus Ella, was another girl.

I wanted another boy so my son would have a brother, but when I was pregnant with Ella I knew she was a girl and I was so excited...So because I lost a girl, and I had hopes for another girl and I have loads of girls things brand new, I of course want a baby girl...I will be happy with a healthy baby, but my heart really wants another girl

oh and I have 3 girls ages 11, 10 and almost 8 and none of them wear slutty clothes...There are plenty of stores that sell normal looking girl clothes

I want a girl. I really want Erin to have a sister close-ish in age. Not only that, but with a summer baby I'll be able to use all my baby girl clothes I got for Cora again.

I honestly have no preference. I want at least one boy and at least one girl before I'm done, so I will be ecstatic no matter what I get

That a whole other topic unto itself, isnt it!! The clothing for little girls is disgusting and the people who design it, should be ashamed of themselves. Who wants to see a little girl in a belly top and short shorts? Makes me sick to my stomach that some people dress their kids that way!

But the REAL subject...! lol I love pink and frills and everything girlie and would LOVE to have a baby girl, BUT my sister was visiting with her baby boy in the summer and I absolutely fell head over heels in love with him, so I really would LOVE to have a boy. I love being in this position because no matter what this baby is, its exactly what I desire! Dbf on the other hand, would dearly love to have a boy

It's getting harder and harder to buy Erin clothes. That's why I'm making her more and more.

I do not have a preference either way. But since finding out our first baby we lost was our son ... I've always just thought that's what we will have first.

LOL. I was not implying that ALL the little girls clothes are slutty. Or that anyone really wants their little girl to look slutty. But just that I find boys clothes are way nicer "across the board." I can usually walk into any store I want and find something adorable AND suitable for him. Where I really have to be picky in even Children's Place and GAP with what I grab for her. It just makes me sad that it has to come to that...me being careful what I buy (making sure skirts are long enough, jeans don't have sparkles all over the butt, and shirts are not low cut or belly showing). Anyway...this thread became even more interesting. I am sure that the mommies here of girls dress them very tastefully...but I am a feminist at heart and I am saddened where the styles are going.

BUT, the good news is that boy clothes are soooo much more fun than they were even ten or twenty years ago!

I really don't have a preference on what we have. DH is big in hunting and doing things out side. I always thought how nice it would be to have son and watch him teach our son how to hunt, fish and other things outside.

I can't even believe I am admitting this, but did you ever do that pencil test? You thread a needle, then stick the needle into an eraser on a pencil, someone else holds it above your palm. Circle motion is a girl - back and forth motion is a boy. You don't need to be pregnant to try this. The pencil actually stops between children. So it "tells you" how many children (m/c and stillborn included), the sex, and the order.

This has been both a blessing and curse.... It said for me (years ago) boy, girl, girl, boy. I have a boy, I have a girl, and my recent m/c was a girl. Pretty freaky..... So I guess I don't have a preference, but I am expecting (if another pregnancy sticks) a boy....

^^Hmm, I have never heard of that. Although I would be terrified to try it, since I would be afraid it would tell me I was not going to have any more kids.

Yeah, I did this before I was in actual "baby conception" mode. It is a game and I took it as such then - not so sure I would think that way now. That is why I say blessing and a curse. It could be a fun game for hope - but could be devastating if it doesn't say much. I guess it depends on your mind set, knowing it is just a game. But it has been one that has stuck in mind mind all of these years.

I know how those things "stick." Me and my mom were taking a walk one day probably four or five years ago. We were talking about her eventually having grandkids (I have two brothers too) and she was making "predictions" about what we would each have. And she said "I see you only having one little boy." And I laughed it off at the time, since I did and still do want four kids. But I have NEVER forgotten that in the past year of trying to have another baby. It is like a bad fog following me around. I love my son, but him being the only one is just not an option.

And Shanise said I will have a little girl at some point and I am going to replace my mom's "prediction" with hers, since she is obviously more tuned in

I would love to have a girl. One- this will be out last baby, so I would love to have one of each. Two- since spud was a boy, and I had the feeling that at least CJ's twin was a boy too, maybe I would have better luck with carrying a girl? KWIM?
But I also would like CJ ti have a brother. So what ever we end up with I will be happy with!

Someone did the pencil test with me when I was pregnant with my second dd. We did it like 4 times, and each time said I was having a boy. Actually, every old wives' tale in the book said I was having a boy, so much so that I became convinced that she was a boy and was actually very surprised when she was born and I held up a girl, lol. She turned out to be a very girly girl, too, so definitely no boy qualities there.

For #3, I honestly don't care. Since I already have two daughters, everyone assumes that I'd want a boy. I'd actually love to have another girl. Believe it or not, I still have all my daughter's (who is now 7) clothes saved through age 3 because I was sure I'd have another little girl some day. On the other hand, I also think it would be neat to see what it is like to have a little boy. My dh would like a little boy, but he thinks he is destined to be a father of all girls (and he is a great father of his girls).

Yes my MIL did it on me before I ever got pregnant. It said Boy, Girl, Boy, Girl.
So my thinking has been my first loss was a boy, then DD, this last loss was a boy, then next will be girl.

Shanice just predicted I am pregnant right now with a girl... so we shall see.

As for preference I really don't care. Of course DH wants a boy. I lean a little towards girl only for the fact that I think it will be cheaper. I can save all of Madisons toys and I saved a lot of her clothing from 18 month on up.
