As most of you know we found out on December 4th that we were pregnant. My HCG levels never went above 285. My HCG level was back down to 0 on December 22. I started spoting on December 10th and went to the ER for the spotting. I really didn't start to bleed until December 14th because I was taking Prometirum and had to stop that. Should I count December 14th at CD1? The bleeding I had was like a normal AF. It was only heavy that one day. I am cunfused since I don't know if I had Chemical pregnancy or Blighted Ovum. I thought with any loss any bleeding you had with that loss was just bleeing from that loss. Sorry about asking so many questions. This has just been so hard on us and so confusing for us.

Yes, I would count CD1 as December 14th. Since that was when the levels were low enough to start the bleeding and chances are it continued to drop from there. I am not sure it really matters which type of pregnancy it was, I still think CD1 should be the same. And given the short amount of time you were pregnant (and the low levels), I would assume your cycles from here would remain somewhat normal. Although it looks like your ticker says you got your period on the 30th of December as well??? If that is the case, I would just count the period from there. But if not, I would count it from the 14th.

It is all very confusing, and not even specific. Some women have no issues with their cycle and all remains as it was. And some women are thrown off for months or years after a miscarriage. It is so hard to know what to expect. But hang around here for a while (well, hopefully you won't have to) and you will learn more of what is the norm

I haven't updated my ticker since found out about the baby. The last m/c we had I ended up having a d/c and complcations from the d/c in August. I got a period in September not at my usual time skipped October and had a period at the beginning of November which is my normal time. I am wondering if this month I will get af around Jan 14th since that is when I started bleeding in December.

I have always (always being the 3 times) counted the first day of a chemical/early loss as CD1. I know that at least one of those my period was right on time. The other two- one was delayed because of hysterscopy/laproscopy surgery the other was a new pregnancy.

I think you should count the first day of bleeding as CD1. I hope AF shows up for you right on time.

For my two losses, I counted the first day of red bleeding, not spotting, as CD1, even though it's not considered to be a normal cycle (that's what 2 doctors have told me...). For my first loss in September, AF was only 2 days later than normal, and for this latest loss (Dec 3), I'm STILL waiting, although I'm expecting her to show tomorrow since my temp dropped this morning.

Don't be shocked if AF is a little late for you this time around. Perfectly normal! Before your pregnancy, were you usually pretty regular?

For charting purposes, you should always count the first day of true bleeding that is actual shedding of the lining at CD1. With my loss in October, I ovulated a few days later than normal. I usually ovulate around CD 16-17, and that cycle I ovulated CD 24. The next I went back to my normal time.

Before my first m/c af always showed up on the first. Now with the bleeding on December 14th I don't know if AF will show up around the same time or wait until Feb to show up on the 1st. I hope it doesn't wait until Feb to show up.

Since you're usually around a 30 day cycle, I would think that your af should show up by Jan 21 (a week later than normal). You usually O later than normal after a mc, like Jess said, so that would push your af later as well. I know I O'ed about a week later than normal after both my mc.

Without charting, it's really hard to say for sure.

Thank you ladies. My body is still confusing me some. I wish I could chart. When I was taking my temp for my OB everyday it never did show when I O. Come to fine out I sleep with my mouth open and I guess that can throw the temps off. Also I have PCOS whish I know can cause a problem with taking temps. On December 29th I had a lot of ECWM. I also went out on the 29th and bought the Clearblue Easy Digital Ovulation Test one munth supply. I took it on the 29th. It showed no smiley face. When I took the test strip out the two lines were really dark though. When I took it the next day it still didn't show a smiley face but the two lines were lighter and they have been lighter then the first one. I am wondering if maybe I O'd before I took the test on the 29th.

I do have another question. On December 10th when I was in the ER they said I had a cyst on my ovary. Could that still be causing me problems? Will af show if I still have a cyst and can I still O if the cyst is still there.

Did they say if the cyst was "the cyst of pregnancy" (aka the corpus luteum) or was it a regular old cyst? Everybody has a corpus luteum when they're pg, even if you're starting to miscarry - I did. It was funny bc my DH started to freak out when the ultrasound tech said "cyst", and both of us looked at him, rolled our eyes, and said it was supposed to be there. The corpus luteum doesn't interfere with o or af - it goes away during/after your m/c.

If it was a "regular" cyst, I'm really not sure bc I don't have any experience with them. Sorry.

They didn't say what kind of cyst it was. I might try calling my ob today and see if he will tell me. I need to call them anyways and tell them that they were right about my thyroid levels being to low.
