I'm thinking maybe a part of the placenta? When I passed my baby everything was attached together, sac, placenta etc, and the placenta part was kind of greyish on the outside.

There a lot of Goop up there that comes out. I remember passing something during one of my miscarriages that looked like a sea urchin. I was completely freaked out but found out that it was normal. I hope this helps.

Ok, so this is probably in bad taste, but this made me giggle. I have a very visual and slightly twisted mind.

I have had similar experiences with some of my miscarriages. With my second one things came out that were down right alien, after the baby had already gone. So I think it's probably ok to have that. Better to have that out...

I really think doctors should be more involved in miscarriages, instead of just sending girls home saying you will bleed and pass clots, let them know there are going to be sci-fi looking things going on. No one told me anything to expect and its horrible

I am sorry. I remember calling my friend who lived next store to come look at m toilet. I am sure it was TMI overboard for her but I just wanted someone to see it incase I died or something to explane what was going on. I was not told anything nothing about bleeding or clots. I just remember going potty and the toilet would be RED and I was possing tissue looking stuff.
My last loss was a D&C so I don't have the 2 to compaire.

I am glad you are ok and so sorry the doctor did not prepare you for this. ((Hugs)). It is scary and emotionally taxing. If you just want to stay in bed then do it, you need to take care of you right now.
We are here for you.

So I really, really, really hope that no one will ever have to go through a miscarriage ever again. That would be a perfect world, right? But if something like this ever happens again, it's perfectly okay to put it in a plastic baggy and bring it to your doc's office for reassurance if it's really worrisome. I passed a HUGE clot after Drew was born, it looked like the lips of my vagina had fallen off, I was freaking out, it was on the toilet paper... So I set the whole mess aside and asked a nurse to come look at it, and she and my doc both confirmed that it was totally normal.
