I always heard that you are more fertile after a miscarriage but never knew why. So I did some googling and found this really interesting article.
Does Fertility Increase After Miscarriage? An Analysis - Associated Content from Yahoo! - associatedcontent.com
"A woman is arguably more fertile in the months immediately following a miscarriage because of the elevated levels of progesterone in her system. Progesterone is a hormone that supports pregnancy and proper implantation of a fetus in a woman's uterus."
If this is true, then if I take progesterone after O it will help me get pregnant? I always took progesterone only if I got a BFP except after the IUI and last cycle.

I don't know for sure, Missy, but I think they usually give progesterone in the TWW of IVF cycles... it couldn't hurt, right? Is it expensive?

The prefilled vaginal inserts cost me $275 for 15 of them! OUCH. I switched to the pills and I think they were $60 for a bottle of 20 (200mg).
I am going to try the progesterone again this month!

Someone I know told me an article they read (but couldn't find it online she said she thought it was in Shape magazine..) said that more and more experts/evidence is supporting the fact that women who TTC SOONER rather then later after a miscarriage are more likely to carry the next one to term. This evidence was only for people who had 1-2 miscarriages (most likely to be "flukes") though and not recurring losses.
Maybe the reason they carry to term more is because of the progesterone then?

Maybe you are onto something?!! Hmm.....
Nicole - I think (and I could be wrong) that the suppositories may be different than what I have. I have single use prefilled applications. Each applicator contains 1.45 g of gel and delivers 1.125 g of gel containing 90mg progesterone. crinone gel 8% <--- I typed it from the wording on the box.
I still have 2 refills left but no way can afford it right now. I think the pills work the same!

Ya know I've read that as well Missy that's almost why I don't want to prevent or anything because I wouldn't want to miss the opportunity of conceiving... but I AM tempted to give myself the progesterone shot 7 days post-o shoot it just might be the golden ticket~!
 Missy

You have to take it AFTER you ovulate, otherwise it could make you not ovulate at all. Make sure you take it after sweetie. Like 1 dpo earliest
OMG... Where do these doctors get their license?
