So, I was watching last night's Conan O'Brian and I have to say, one of his guests made me so angry that I wanted to reach through the screen and slap her or shake her and say, "Are you insane? Do you even realize what you just said, or how bad you are going to feel about that one day in the future if the worst should happen to you like it has for me and so many other women I know.
The guest was Kaitlin Olsen from the show It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. I don't watch that show, and I honestly had no idea who she was, but some of the jokes made...... . Apparently during one episode her character was hooked on steroids and said the line "I will eat your babies *******." So anyway....fans now approach her and her four month old and say "I will eat your baby *****." Conan was like "That's horrible." And she said something along the lines of, "no, I think it's great. It's a compliment. I'm famous and being recognized. So what if my baby has to die on the way to the top." Then there was a reference made to dumpster babies and people have asked (jokingly) if she and her husbandare going to throw her baby in a dumpster. Conan said "this kid is going to need so much therapy!" and the lady then says........
"If he doesn't like it, he can leave. No one is holding him hostage. Besides..... I can have another."
Am I the only one completely disgusted by this? I mean.....disgusted to the point that I will likely never watch anything that has the woman in it. I can't handle anyone who makes light of the loss of a child or of fertility issues. Do you all feel the same way or had 5 years of this crap just turned me into a nasty, hateful, unforgiving person?

Yeah, that's pretty bad. Even if I hadn't had a loss, I would think it's in poor taste.

See, that was my reaction. I just couldn't believe what I was hearing! My husband (who always tries to see the best in EVERYONE) said "I don't think she meant anything.... It was just an off color joke." I realize of course that she thought it was a joke, but I just can't understand how ANYONE can joke about something like that.

This reminds me of an article from The Onion right after my loss. I was seriously in a rage over this thing for weeks. I just totally don't get it, and all I can hope is that it's a satire of people who gossip and say stupid things. But it just makes me sick. I am posting a link, but WARNING, it may send you into an uncontrollable rage, so beware.

Brittanie, I know The Onion is full of satire, but I just totally didn't understand what would be funny to the general population about that article. Maybe it's just me

I've read the onion article before and was so pissed that I won't go there again.
As far as sending the actress a message. I have an address to send "fan mail" and I do intend to send her a message. If anyone wants that address, just PM me. I don't want to post it here just in case that is agains TOS.

Someone seriously needs to ***** slap her! Nothing she said is ok, in any way, shape, or form.
How in the world, does she have any fans?!

I feel stupid, because I can't quite figure out the starred out part (I am thinking the "b" word for female dogs). But either way, those comments were in such poor taste, I will never, ever have respect for her or Conan. Even him allowing her to make such comments is hurtful. I can't believe she would even utter those words about her child. Maybe actually having a loss makes me appreciate my child more, but honestly, I think *most* people (loss or no) would never say anything to imply their child is replacable. Very, very sad.
And the Onion article actually did not insult me that badly...because that is what the Onion does. If anything, I see it as addressing the stupid things people say without thinking about other's feelings. They are making a point that people really DO say stuff along those lines and how ridiculous that sounds to a grieving person. Maybe I am taking something different away from it, but that is what I got.

I have never read such a reprehensible piece of garbage before. I've never heard of The Onion before. I can appreciate satire, but that is NOT satire. Who the f**k would ever even think of writing something like that?!?
