Appointment Today (preg mentioned)

The appointment was pretty uneventful. They took like 8 or 9 vials of blood. I forgot how much it was!

I went ahead and got my progesterone and betas checked but none of the results will be back until Tues or Wed probably. MLK day is on Monday so that might slow things down too.

Is that about how long it usually takes to get back results?

My BP was high so they went ahead and put me on bp pills....I had to have them with my last pregnancy and I have gained weight since then so I am sure that didn't help :/

My next appointment is Fri Feb 4th at 11:30 am and I should be about 7 weeks pregnant then. Hopefully the testing comes back ok next week but wouldn't they need to do another beta draw to have something to compare it to or would one draw be enough?

I usually get my results same day because they don't have to send the blood anywhere. That's a lot of blood drawn though, so who knows.

Oh yeah. The girl mentioned that all their blood goes out. They don't have the capability to do it in the office.

yeah, it sounds like a normal, boring first appointment at 4weeks. Any talks of an ultrasound at 7 weeks?

I'm with Missy -- ultrasound? And are they doing a quantitative hcg check or a qualitative hcg check? If you want to know if they're doubling properly then they'd need to do a quantitative check, and if the office is closed until Tuesday, then that timeframe doesn't work, right? I've never had that done, but if the doubling time is 48 hours, then four days would be too long.
