Does your SO help you with household chores? How do you organize your household?

DH takes the trash out to the street on trash day. And changes the air filter when it needs to be changed, but that's it.

I'm a SAHM, so I don't mind really--but sometimes I do need a little bit of help, and get aggravated over him not helping. Then on the days that i'm not feeling good, and don't get much done--he gets aggravated because I didn't do much. We are still working on finding a medium.

We are not clean freaks, but we aren't slobs either.

Yes DH helps around the house...He helps with dish's and clean up after dinner (sometimes I don't ask him to)...he also helps get our youngest ready for bed every night (PJ's and teeth)...He does all the trash and recycle every day and brings it out on trash day...On the weekends he will sometimes help vacuum downstairs and the stairs...He will sometimes clean the downstairs bathroom too...I'm a SAHM and I do most everything, but he will help if I ask him to, and sometimes when I don't.

I'm a pretty clean person, it's hard though when we have so many people in such a small house, and with 4 kids it's almost impossible to have everything perfect...I've had to let go of a lot of my OCD about cleaning...Now that my kids are getting older, I make them do more to help around the house...Not as much during the school year, but when they are off for a break they do a lot (My oldest helped me a lot this summer when I was on bedrest)...They fold most of their own laundry and put it away now, and help pick up...they are also expected to keep their room clean...It doesn't always stay clean, but I don't allow them to do anything untill it's cleaned up.

DH does the trash, loads the dishwasher, and feeds the dog.

I unload the diswasher, dust, sweep, and steam mop.

We have a roomba so that vaccums our downstairs and we take turns vacumming the upstairs. I am usually the one that throws the laundry in but I make him fold it with me. I think we're pretty even.

Dh helps with everything. Usually Sunday is our cleaning day. We start in the morning and we split everything. If something needs done during the week then who ever is home takes care of it. Dh always takes the trash out.

Gosh Jerry does almost everything, lol........so completely different then my ex! The ONLY thing I do is laundry, dishes......did I say laundry already? Jerry vacums, dust, mop, sweeps, bathrooms. The older boys do trash. Everyone does their own room. What a difference though from where I was at 20yrs ago.....I used to be a control freak in the house, now I could give two sh**'s less when things get done, lol!

PS. the tree is somewhat down, major progess from last years April removal, lol!!

Does he help me? Not often, but when he does I appreciate it. He's trying to be more helpful that way I've really given up on it all. I LOVE organization, but in this household it's impossible when I have several people against me :\ (I don't mean it's a fight, I mean they're messy sloppy lol)

I live in a house full of slobs that would much rather play on the computers - watch movies ect... than clean (myself included). I was getting to the point where I was losing my mind because I felt I was always running around the house yelling at everyone to help me clean and I honestly don't have much motivation myself to do it... Well I was feeling resentful so I made a chores chart. We had a family meeting about it and it started last week. So far it is awesome! Not everything is spotless clean but I am not screaming because the house is nasty anymore. It was a much more peaceful week and the boys like it to.
