So I took an OPK. these kinds the directions say if only the control line is there, it's invalid. If the test line is lighter then control line, it is negative. POSITIVES are just as dark as the control line. I did this test exactly to the directions. I read it AT 5 minutes no shorter, no longer and this was my result. So for you experienced OPK users, do you think I am close to O'ing? Is this just a regular negative result or am I close to getting the line just as dark as the control line? (The control line is the one next to the blue handle side) It is so hard for me to tell! And sorry the pics are kinda blurry...

No idea where I am in my cycle, its only been a day or two since the spotting from my d&C stopped. And when I say spotting I mean just a couple drops....

Have your hcg levels gone back to zero? Hsg can cause a positive result on an OPK (that is why I ask). How many days since your D&C?

Hmm, no they aren't at zero, last friday they were 43 and I haven't gotten a positive on a HPT since my D&C which was on 1/7/11.

I would BD just in case but like Missy said HCG can also cause the OPK to be positive. But if you levels are low enough that does look almost positive

thanks ladies, I took another one last night just to compare and it was easier to see it was negative but the line was still pretty dark so maybe soon!

Like the others said, OPKs aren't valid until your HCG has gone below 5. If your HCG were negative, then I would say that that OPK looks very close to being positive (close to O time).

I don't know, my HCG levels are super low and arent' even registering on HPT's so I'm not sure it matters...but I am new to all this OPK stuff so I must admit I really have no idea. Went in for another blood draw today so fingers crossed my levels are back down to normal.
