1st: Ok soWednesday my son, who is 2, was very ill and had to be taken for chest xrays and I went in the room and held him in position because I had taken a test that am and it was bfn. I did wear lead vest that covered my abdomen. He had pneumonia and ito was so scary but his fever is down finally.

2nd: I went tanning thursday for 20 mins in regular bed because it eases my nerves and cal's nger and I had gotten a bfn thursday. (I'm a poas addict) I burned on my lower back and stomach and I never burn! Then this am I got that positive & got them all day!!!! I realty though I was out because with all my previous pregnancies I had tested positive by day 22 and thursday was 24!

Do you think I did damage? ( for lack of a better word?)

I'm sure you are fine, it was just the one time for the tanning and you wore a lead vest for the xrays. Don't beat yourself up!

Eh, those are sooo minor at this stage...there is no way they affected the baby. You wore a lead vest...I had an x-ray while I was carrying Liam because they had to see if my foot was broken again. He was way further along too...and is totally fine. Those lead vests do their job. No worries.

And the tanning, has no bearing at all on the baby. Sure, you might have upped your risk for skin cancer, but burning the skin does not mean anything for the baby. The only thing is the body temperature being elevated for an extended period of time. And the best you can do is wait and see. Chances are everything will be fine. I had a flu early, early with Liam and had a fever...again, he was fine (poor kid had all kinds of things against him!!). I would try not to beat yourself up for not knowing you were pregnant and doing those things. It is not like you snorted crack cocaine (which, honestly would not have an effect either).

Tanning is fine while pregnant as long as your are not getting extremely hot (because that isn't good for the baby) you should be fine.

dont worry about those things! back in the day they used to xray the mom to see the position of the baby!! and they used WAY more radiation than they do now

i went tanning FOUR times when i was pregnant with my DD. i didnt realize i was pregnant at the time but i was already 5 weeks. she is a healthy 5 year old right now

Ditto! You can tan all the way through your pregnancy... You just have to watch how hot you get.

I wouldn't worry too much!

I'm so glad to hear that! My OB didn't seem too concerned. I tan for my eczema. My skin cracks and blleds and tanning or being in the ocean are the only things that help. I try not to do it too much and really only do when my hands become barely usable witht he bleeding and cracks. I tested positive at the OB office today and they will send my labs to my RE for Monday. I am officially done peeing on sticks and will now begin to obsess over Betas!
