Ok, this is so far off topic, but I thought it might be fun. I am going a post something that's a throwback to my childhood.
I was going to make this about first computers because the "PC or Laptop" thread gave me the idea, but I realized that I am probably the only person in here that has a ridiculous first computer due to my age. So, just post something funny that is from when you were younger.
This computer was our first computer. It is a Compaq 8088 "laptop". It is the size of a suitcase and probably weighs 50 pounds. I'd love so see someone sitting on the couch with this thing in their lap. It had 640KB of RAM. Today's computers usually have a minimum of 2GB of ram, which is 2,000,000 KB. It had no hard drive, a 9 inch green monitor and two 5.25" floppy drives. It came out in January 1983 (I was 10) and cost $2995. I thought it was so awesome.

Lol I had the same thoughts...I remember our first computer and it was huge and had to have dial up and the horriable graphics. Brings back memories of Where in the world is Carmon SanDiego.

I vaguely remember our first computer. But I do remember dial up and being kicked off when someone called you.

LoL that's awesome!
I still have my family's Commodore 64. I thought we were pretty badass, hooking up the computer to the tv and playing ghostbusters, hahaha!

OMG - I dreamed of owning a fancy computer like that!
Show and Tell record player! I wanted one of these as well but my mom didn't think I would take care of it. My Uncle did get me the read and tell record player, same concept but there was no screen and you followed along with books.

Ok two things first our first computer was an Atari 800-

Looks like a glorified type writer now. You opened the top and you put in these little cartridges.
I saw this yesterday when looking for a new little people castle for DS. I remember this thing so well I LOVED it!

YES! I had that too. It was my favorite toy at one point. I got so pissed off when my mother gave it away. They make one now that's similar, but it's all child proofed and not nearly as cool. Stupid safety rules! haha

I remember our first computer too. We got it when I was 9 or 10. It had DOS and we had ONE game...called Allie's Playhouse and had to run it through the "D" prompt
That is about as "high tech" as the graphics got. But it was a pretty fun game, for what it was at the time.
I did used to watch: YouTube - The Pee Wee Herman Show It is long, watch a couple minutes. It was the raunchiest kids show We watched it when were like six!!

Missy, seeing that picture of the show and tell record player really brought back memories. I had one when I was growing up. I used to sit for hours listening to it.

I can't find a pic of it, but does anybody remember the Pipeworks? I used to love building monkey bars and other stuff with those things.
