Quick question ladies - I had my first period after my D&C (Dec 7th) on Jan 3rd, which seemed a reasonable amount of time, as my cycles had normally been 29-32 days prior to getting pregnant. Well, my period just started today, which would be a cycle of 23 days. I don't think I've EVER had a cycle that short - although I now have an explanatino for the horrific carb/sugar/chocolate/sweet (you get the picture!) PMS cravings I've had the past week! :-) Has anyone had their cycles take a while to get back to normal after a m/c or D&C? After my m/c back in Oct of 09, my cycles went back to 28-29 days immediately. Just wondering if I ought to be concerned or just let it go. I no longer have insurance so calling or seeing a doc is not really an option today. (blech!)

I seem to be having the opposite problem. I had a natural MC on 12/10. I started spotting on 1/8 and I still have bleeding. It is heavier today and yesterday, more like a normal period, but otherwise it's been very light spotting, but for 2 1/2 weeks. It's so annoying.

Anyway, I wouldn't be too concerned. Everything I have read says that the first period is wacky. My doctor said I should only be concerned if I started gushing blood and passing clots which would be an indicator of retained tissue.

It can take up to a year for your body to be totally back to normal. I know my "normal" now isn't what it was before. My cycle really changed. I would say give it a cycle or two and if it is still a very short cycle I would try to go see a doctor. Hugs! I hate when our bodies aren't acting right.

I'm sorry your body is playing tricks on you, and I'm sorry for your loss... It sucks, especially when you want your cycles back on track so you can TTC. I'm sure the recommendation is to just wait a cycle or two and see what happens, but if you get really impatient, there are supplements you can try

I've been taking Vitex which usually normalizes me fairly well, but apparently not this time :-) I'm just tired of the whole hormonal flux that goes on after a loss, my body is in supreme hormonal revolt including bloating which is out of control, my skin's breaking out and my hair's falling out. Even if I did want to TTC right now, I"m afraid DH would run away screaming!! :-)
