... AF comes a-knockin'?

Me, I am so stereotypical. I want chocolate and salt. And soda and other junk stuffs. I also use my trusty Ibuprofen, start my Evening Primrose Oil (really helps me) and my heating pad. For the worst two days, I get free reign of the TV, don't have to cook (yay DH!) and I allow myself to nap when DD does. DH gets very when I have BFNs/AF, and I'm grateful for that.

So what's your routine to help ease the crappy AF days?

My PMS is horrible, I hate when I start on a weekday. I usual vomit a few times, the first day. I get back cramps, leg crams, and very tired/weak because my flow is so heavy. I drink soda and eat chocolate because the caffeine helps. I take ibuprofen, or something stronger, along with a hot bath. I also start my EPO. Hubby takes care of me, and will make dinner. I'm usually in bed by 9 the first two days.

I cry a lot and am very emotional. I switch back and forth between Tylenol and Ibuprofen. I use the the Thermacare heating pads. I eat whatever I want and pretty much do whatever I want to make myself feel better.

I curl up in a ball and take Vicodin or Lortab the first day. The second day I still have the pain meds, just not as much and usually go to work.

I have super mild PMS - its gotten a little bit worse in the past few years, when I've cut back on my 50-70 mile a week running habit and I've let actual "hormones" be produced in my body.

But my general pattern is the two weeks between my AF and ovulation, I crave very little so I usually can do something like a cleanse or stick really well to eating great. Then I ovulate, and I start to bloat a bit, just in my gut and thighs, which is annoying. THen the cravings hit the week before AF shows up. Breads, pastas, sugars, cake, cookies..... Some months are easier than others luckily, but the bad ones I just give myself permission to go ahead and enjoy it since I know that the second AF shows up, the cravings are gone and I'll be back eating healthy again.

The two days before AF shows up I do get hit with some crazy anxiety sometimes as well, a xanax or two seem to help. That's the worst "new" symptom I've had. I'd take bloating over that any day. Blah.

That's my cure-all, even if it's not AF-related!

My period really isn't that bad. I used to get more PMS symptoms, but it has really evened out over the past year, I wonder if that is diet related?

The only thing is I just get really hungry. No specific cravings, I just eat a LOT. I will end up with over 2000 calories. Yet, I somehow manage to still lose weight

My periods aren't too bad. My cramps aren't horrendous. I get a little more emotional and a little bit snappy. Usually all I do is eat a lot of chocolate, and drink all the coffee I want. If I'm off work during the worst of it, I usually just sit around the house in my Pjs. I only have one bad day though, as my periods are pretty short.
