So I called my doctor's office and made an appointment...March 8th (which happens to be the EDD of my last pregnancy loss)...I'll be over 8 weeks...I started to bleed at 7 weeks in my last pregnancy, after I had had an ultrasound to check for a heartbeat...I was reassured by my doctor's office that i'm going to be followed closely and I remember being told that I would get an early ultrasound...I'm not happy at all...I should be getting a call back from a nurse...I sometimes don't think the girls that set up appointments understand, especially if it's someone that has a history of loss...I told her that I want my progesterone mg upped and i'd like a blood test...I'm also going to tell the nurse that if I can't be seen till March 8th that i'd really like them to put in an order for an ultrasound at 6 or 7 weeks...I can't wait longer than that!!! I'll update you when they call me back.
*update*
whew so glad i talked to the nurse...She'll be talking to my doctor in a couple hours...She said for sure they'll get me in at 6 weeks for a viability ultrasound and they will probably do a few sets of beta's to see when I reach 2000 and they might do the ultrasound sooner...She's also going to get my progesterone tested and ask the doctor about upping my mg...So i'll be hearing back from them sometime today!!

Megan, I hope they call you back with an earlier appointment. You would think knowing your history they would get you in a lot sooner.

Praying they call you back soon and fix everything. I hate dealing with doctors offices sometimes.

Receptionists are always idiots. 90% of the time when I call in I just ask for a nurse to avoid them.
After I had one tell me they wont see me when bleeding and told me there is no hope for me that I should just go to the ER I am ruined on them!

I am sure it is just protocol and the receptionist was "going by the book". I am sure it will all change once you get a nurse/doc on the phone!
I would have gone over there and made the appt in person after that kind of response. It is much harder for them to not give you what you want when you are standing there! But then again I am a pigheaded brat!

Thanks ladies, i'm still waiting for the call...I have a feeling if I explain what's gone on, and what happened in my last pregnancy they will at least give me an ultrasound sooner...by 8 weeks in my last pregnancy I had already had 3 appointments lol...I guess that's one thing about starting over in a new office, they don't know you and your situation...I have been in before, but it was from my complications after my miscarriage and for testing, but never pregnancy...The doctor was voted best doctor in town, so I don't think it's her fault this is happening...I have high hope that i'll get in sooner

I hope they get you in sooner. The receptionists at my OBs office are pretty frustrating sometimes too, plus one of them never smiles...drives me batty.

I go to BOGA...I used to go to peace health OB's (My doctor was bought out by them), but I had nothing but horrible experiances...Now i'm seeing Dr Kapernick (not sure I spelled her name right)...She came highly recomended to me...Even by one of the midwives from the birth center (who I now know through the pregnancy loss meetings)...I just thought about it, I wonder if I shouldn't go to the meetings anymore, I don't want to hurt anyone that attends ...I might go one more time and let the ladies know that I wont be coming back.

I'm so glad you got a good call back from the nurse.
My OB's office has the receptionist automatically transfer you to the nurse (or her voicemail) if you have any concern about the pregnancy. The receptionists aren't able to schedule earlier appointments without the approval of the nurse/OB.

I am glad they could work it out for you. I was always frustrated with the level of care I received in early pregnancy.... I felt that with all the losses I had, I should get a little more attention early on!
