Hey ladies. I was going to update you tomorrow but I wanted to let you know what was going on. I had my lap done this morning to remove my cyst. I was really nervous but the nurses were awesome and I kept telling them that! All I remember is them telling me to breathe in the gas then next thing I know I wake up in a different bed and a nurse taking my vitals. The nurse was my old pastor;s wife! It was nice to see a friendly face. Within minutes of waking up the pain hit and so did the nausea. So she gave me zofran and morphine. Shortly after they took me to my room where DH and my mom were waiting. DH fed me ice cubes then ginger ale and saltines. I was soooo thirsty! I started asking then about the surgery. Before the surgery I told DH not to let them remove my ovary or my uterus or if by some chance if there was a baby in there not to take it out. I was terrified I was going to wake up and find out that they had to remove everything and I would not be able to have kids. Luckily all of my fears were in vain and I still have all my baby growing/making parts. I could tell as I asked questions that something was up and that I was in surgery longer than I should have been. DH would not tell me anything until I asked again when we were in the car. He told me they found endometriosis on the left side of my uterus and on my bladder. My right side is completely healthy. It took the ob longer because he tried to kill all the endo he found. Apparently it was kind of extensive. So the ob thinks that the endo will just get worse if it is not treated soo when I go for my next visit on the 17th he is going to start a 6 month endo killing regime. I will have a shot every three months for six months which will send my body into a menopauselike state. I will not have a period for six months. So we will not be trying to conceive again until mid-August. The ob thinks that the endo and cyst are what have been making ttc so difficult for us and after these shot he thinks we will be pregnant within three months. So keeping everything crossed hopefully we will be pregnant by Thanksgiving/Christmas. Oh I forgot to mention that other than the endo the surgery went great! I don't think all of the news has sunk in yet but what I do know that this is going to give me one giant leap in the right direction to having a baby and I will do anything to have a baby! I also will never be allowed to have a natural period again besides the month/s we are ttc because periods just help the endo spread. Right now I am doing okay. DH is taking great care of me. I am sore but I was givien some good drugs. I am sorry this has been so long. I also want to let you know that I am not going to obe getting on as often but I will be checking in every couple of days so I know what is going on with you ladies! I wish you all the luck and love you girls!!!

I am glad things went well. I just wanted to let you know that the best time to get pregnant is the first six months after a lap because everything has been cleaned out. My doctor only recommended 6 months of Lupron to endo patients who were not TTC. Lupron has horrible side effects, so please do your research, before making your decision.

I had stage IV endo, which resulted in two huge cysts, on my tubes/ovaries. It was also in my bladder, colon, and appendix. I had the cysts, one tube, and appendix removed in Feb 2010, we were told to TTC right away, I got a BFP in April which resulted in a miscarriage (not related to endo).

Eleven months post op I had a US to make sure no endo was growing, it showed up clear. I just got my 2nd BFP this week!!!

Good luck, and best wishes.

Glad to hear that everything went relatively smoothly. I think you might want to take what TTCin2010 had to say into consideration and maybe get a 2nd opinion before moving on with Lupron.

I'm going to second the two ladies. In the end it is 100% up to you and I'm no doctor but I did do Lupron for a year. It's a lot of side effects to go through for 3 months. Yes, endo can grow back quickly but everybody's different. I had my first lap and the endo was growing back in 2 months even with BCP. In the four years between my 2nd and 3rd ones my endo didn't grow back at all. I was on BCP the first two of those four years and nothing the last two. I got pregnant the 2nd cycle after my lap. Honestly if it were me the first thing I would ask is what stage endo it was and go from there. Unless it were one of the upper stages I would TTC (maybe with Clomid) for a few months and then do Lupron if I still thought I should.

I really recommend going over to the TTC with endo board and look around/ ask questions. I hope I didn't sound too pushy / bossy!
