I am putting my menu together now for the day. It is the superbowl and my son Corey's 20th birthday so we are having an all day eat fest
What are you cooking for the game?

I'll be at my hospital internship orientation all day Sunday, so I won't be cooking anything. However, my dream menu would consist of:
Wings
Beer (for everyone but me, because I'd be pregnant )
Soda
Mini steak sandwich hors d'ouvres (sp...) on French bread
Chips
And KING CAKE. Man I could go for some King Cake.
What are your menu ideas, Missy?
Katie, the poppers sound fantastic, I LOVE jalapeno poppers! The heat from the jalapenos plus the cool cream cheese -- YUM.

Aw I wish I could come over as well! DH will be watching the game with his youngest son (14) out of state...so I'll be here, doing basically nothing. Maybe I'll whip up a feast for myself...who knows :-)

Actually - we are Falcons fans here as my husband grew up in Savannah and I lived in Atlanta for 7 years. So I guess I will default to routing for the Steelers only because his best friend is a die hard fan.
Personally, I am just watching for the commercials.

Heck, I am just participating for the food!
I am making:
skinless gyoza (pot stickers without wrappers)
butternut squash 'chips'
cheesy bacon dip
and maybe deviled eggs
We are going to a friend's house and I am sure she will make way too much food. So, depending on what she makes, I might just do the gyoza. That way I know I have one thing I can eat

Nothing. I am still annoyed that the Patriots are out.
I most likely won't watch it, but I will watch Glee afterward.

Just in case you need a meatballs recipe - here is an excellent, easy, low carb one!
BAKED MEATBALLS
1 pound ground beef
1 pound bulk Italian sausage
2 teaspoons dry minced onion
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 cup parmesan cheese, 2 ounces
2 eggs
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
Mix all of the ingredients in a large bowl using your fingers. Mix until the meat no long feels slimy from the eggs. Shape in golf ball size meatballs and place on a large baking sheet with sides. Bake at 375º for 15-20 minutes until the meatballs are done all the way through.

I am changing gears with the menu because this is all taking a lot longer than I thought it would!
I am making Chili tomorrow, Yum!
Chili is done and almost gone... These guys in my house eat a lot!
For Sunday:
Chocolate Birthday cake for Corey
Football Cheese ball
Football Cheese Ball Recipe - Allrecipes.com
Brown sugar smokies
chex mix All cooked and done!
Original Chex(R) Party Mix Recipe - Allrecipes.com
Chili Cheese fries
Ice cream Done, but that was easy because I did not have to cook it
Steak Decided against the steak!
Football cupcakes I may change this to a cake because it will be faster
sausage con queso dip
Added little football brownies that I bought at the store and Potato chips.
For breakfast I am making grits and biscuits/sausage gravy, Yum!
and I wonder why I have gained weight
