With the last lost we had in December my progesterone was very low. I am going to call my OB to ask him this question but I wanted to get some ideas from the ladies on here that are on progesterone pills or suppositories. Before my doctor only told me to start the Prometrium after I got a BFP. I was wondering if I should start the Prometrium after I o'd or wait to see if I get a BFP next week. I have a feeling I should have started it on Thursady of last week.

For the ladies that are on progesterone pills or suppositories did you wait until you got your BFP to start taking them or did you start taking them after you o'd?

I take suppositories and my RE tells me to start them right after ovulation (and I don't have an LP problem).

Both of my docs, the RE and the regular one, had me start when I got my BFP. BUT, I was not comfortable with that, so I had some pills laying around (the first doc prescribed two months worth, since I was pregnant and I managed to drag them out for a couple months of the TTW) that I took from day 17 (two days after ovulation) until I got my BFP and the RE prescribed suppositories.

And I also do not have a noted or diagnosed low progesterone problem. My levels were low in previous draws, but I was also losing the baby at those times, so it is hard to tell which was first, low progesterone or losing the baby. KWIM?

If you are uncomfortable with taking them later, ask if you can start them earlier. I mean, it is a difference of a week and the pills DO NOT have negative effects...so if it makes you feel better, I would think the doc would not care. Ya know? I hope you get it figured out

I don't have a diagnosed progesterone problem, but my RE just started me on Prometrium after ovulation. If you are worried, there is no harm in taking it before a BFP, as long as you stop when you get a BFN.

My doctor has told me to start it 3dpo but this time I didn't (was taking a month off) I started as soon as I got my BFP this cycle.

When I was going to the RE and doing clomid / IUI they had me take progesterone after ovulation. I still have some 200mg pills left so I am going to start taking them tomorrow.

Stacey, I would beg them for you to start taking them a few days after ovulation. At our age it doesn't hurt and if you have a diagnosed progesterone issue then it will only increase your chances of getting pregnant.
