I'm going to pick up some supplements for DH today, he agreed to take some, and wanted to pick up this one for myself. DHA? DHEA? Both? I'm confused.

Both! DHEA is the 'fertility' aid one. DHA is is good to have built up in your system- a long with folic acid and your basic pre natal mix. DHA helps brain development amongst other things. If you have a sensitivity to fish oils though, go for the veggie based one, it's more expensive, but if your prone to HB sometimes the fish oil can come back and haunt you later.

So a good mix would be Fish Oil, DHA, and DHEA? Or is fish oil the same as one of those?

Missy and Sam I have been reading where you take this. I was wondering the same question as Erin. So you need DHEA and DHA? How do you know how much you should take and where can you get these?

My doctor told me to avoid the fish oil while I was pregnant because of the whole mercury thing. Take that for what it's worth.

Stacey -

Here is a link to DHEA at Walmart

Walmart.com: Schiff: Dhea Men's Health Dietary Supplement, 25 Mg: Diet & Nutrition

It costs about $4.00 and I take 75 mg (3pills) per day. It is supposed to help with egg quality in older women. There have been unofficial studies done out there that have proven this and some RE's are even suggesting their patients take it for around 3 months before IVF.

I did not get pregnant at all for 1 1/2 years... not even a hint of a BFP and the docs said I would never get pregnant on my own anymore. After starting the DHEA (I take it all cycle long) I have gotten pregnant 2 times! So while there are no official studies out there, I am a firm believer.
