I am an environmental person and I've been changing things in my life little by little to be more earth friendly. It started with food and once we got over that hurdle, I started looking at grooming stuff (soap, shampoo etc).

So, I bought this shampoo/conditioner at Whole Foods that's free of a lot of the stuff that's in normal shampoos that I can't remember because it's all chemical compounds. Anyway, I cannot believe how soft my hair is. I guess all of the harsh stuff in the other shampoos strips a lot of natural oils or something, but it feels like baby's hair. It's great.

I know a couple of other people mentioned SLS free shampoo in on of the questionnaire threads about grooming habits and I meant to comment in there too but never got around to it.

I just thought I would share that.

I love shopping at Trader Joe's / Whole Foods. I take vitamins from there, but never tried the shampoo.

What is the name of it?

I'll have to look when I am upstairs. It's kind of expensive, but they have many types.

The leave in spray from the same company is the best!!! It was like $17 a bottle and my boys stole it from me.

hmmm,i 'll have to try it. Since watching Food Inc, i've been trying to change us over to a more organic healthy lifestyle. I can't do all organic, or We'd be broke, but i'm changing what I can.

My new best friend site is etsy, I get our Shampoo bars, body bars, heck even candy from there . My shampoo bars are all organic, except for one that is 97% organic.. waaay waay cheaper then buying it in a store, lasts longer and my hair feels soo soft, smells great and is super shiny .. I love etsy . plus with the shampoo bars you never have a container to throw out .ohh and I jsut got the best sea salted caramels from there, I thought I had died and gone somewhere wonderful haha

In the last few months while looking for a new shampoo at various stores reading the ingredients has really made me wonder. There are so many chemical compounds in even the simplest shampoo anymore. I've been looking for something less chemically but didn't know where to start. This is a good place.

This is the one I use. I think I can probably get it cheaper online. I don't know why I didn't even think of that. Even if you don't buy it at Whole Foods, they are a great place to scope out some choices.

I didn't watch Food Inc, but I had a similar experience after reading The Omnivore's Dilemma and In Defense of Food by Michael Pollan. Both great books. We started out only buying meat at Whole Foods because they have grass fed. They now rate all of their meat on a humane scale, which is great. Then we started buying fruits and vegetables there because you can see what state/country everything is from. Now we shop there exclusively, but I know that isn't an option for a lot of people.

I am always excited to meet someone who has gone through a similar journey because I could talk about this subject at length, but I don't want to impose my views on people. It's almost like talking religion with someone.
