Last Period: Jan 21st, lasted 2 days light spotting and then heavy flow. I had a missed misscarriage in May 2010. My periods since then have been 14 days miscarriage, then 26, 28, 30, 32, 30, 30, 28. I was always regular before the misscarriage. I just turned 31 and we aren't really trying but no preventing either.

I went this month and got a 7 day OPT kit because it seems that some months I have the tell tell ovualtion pain usually about mid month and sometimes I do not. According to the charts (I know it can't be accutrate becaues the cycle is off a few days here and there) but if we are going with the typical 14 days I should ovulated on the 4th of this month. I started testing the Monday of the 31st since I had bought them that day.

I got a line but according to all I have read and the directions it says that it has to be as dark or darker then the test line, everywhere I read said that. Tested the next 3 days and all were dark but not quite as dark but close, then on Thursday I got a fainter line and then by 4th when I should be ovulating no line at all. I then looked at the box it was a First Response Kit and the line color on there for the "test" strip said something about the line may appear darker but not as dark, *** that was not what I was going by.

We BD, 27,29,30, 1, 4th,5th, 6th. Yes I know lots of chances and hoping something stuck. I just don't know what to think in regards to the OPT I mean it was dark for a few days and then went faint one day and nothing the next or the day after haven't tested until then. Any thoughts?

I am having dull cramps like normal I have had them for the last 3-4 days, usually I get them about a week before AF shows up and then they stop a little bit before she arrives and none when she is here. I feel bloated, and tired but nothing else. Any thoughts would be appreciated I feel like this is never going to happen again, us getting pregnant and having a baby, losing hope

I am sorry for your loss, welcome to the group.

In My opinion the first response OPK's do not work right. I use the clearblue or early pregnancy test brands. Most of the girls in JM that have used the First Response/Answer OPK's have had issues with them.

Welcome to the board. I am sorry for your loss. As far as your OPK's go it might just be that you missed your surge. But I agree with Missy. I use the early-pregnancy-test ones and they seem to work fairly well.

Welcome to TTCAL, and I'm so sorry for your loss last year. Many of us will start using OPKs 2-3 times per day once the line starts to get darker, as some ladies have a short LH surge and you can miss it if you are only testing once per day. For example, I would test around 2PM each day until I noticed a line that was getting darker, then I would start testing around 1PM and 6-7 PM.

I also agree that the Clear Blue Easy digital opks are some of the best around. They give you a smiley face when it's positive, so no guessing. Also, you can pull the cartridge out and look at the actual lines if you don't get a smiley face so you can tell if you are getting closer. If you don't get your BFP this cycle, you might want to look into them. I got the digital reader and a pack of 20 individually wrapped test strips on Amazon for about $25. Hope you get lucky this month, though!
