Well I had my CD21 (CD16 for me bc of my nightmarishly early O this month) progesterone checked and it came back low at 8.1. From the beginning, I have always thought this was my problem, especially since my last loss where my P was 2.1 before I even started to miscarry.
Anyhoo, AF is due in a few days and I will be starting the clomid challenge. RE seems to think this is going to get me pregnant and they are thrilled they have a clearer picture of what is going on with me. Has anybody done the challenge? I'm nervous bc my friend did clomid recently and got some bad cysts from it. Wish me luck girls.
Also, is all of this medication (clomid and prog) going to turn me into an evil b*tch????

I did the clomid challenge. It is no big deal. What was your FSH level like this month and has your RE given you progesterone to take?
I gotta jump on a conference call but will respond more later.

I didn't do a Clomid challenge cycle, but did do several months of Clomid. The symptoms are different for everyone- mine weren't really bad at all. Maybe a LITTLE bit of extra moodiness, but nothing else. I hope you have mild symptoms too. I hope you get pregnant and only have to worry about this for one cycle!

I did Clomid... I had HORRIBLE side effects. I did get pregnant off of it several times, but no stickies for me. The progestrone can make you have EPS but that is the only problem I had with that.

Haven't gotten the CD3 bloodwork re-done yet since last month when FSH was 1.8. I'm guessing I will be getting it done by the end of the week though. No prog to take yet, since they were just trying to feel things out this month and we were told to prevent TTC. I will get it next cycle.
I'm thinking they are also going to have me do a trigger because she said I am going to be "monitored with ultrasounds". I'm fine with that though. I'm hoping I'll do well with Clomid since I responded well to soy (both my BFPs were soy cycles). Just praying for a sticky one, like all of us...

What is a clomid challenge? Is it different that just taking the pills? It sounds like a reality/game show, which creates some interesting visuals.

It's pretty much the same as just taking the pills, but your blood is monitored to check for elevated FSH levels. If your FSH spikes mid-cycle, it's a sign of diminished ovarian reserve. So I'm going to be tested AND use the clomid as an opportunity to get PG. My FSH wasn't elevated last cycle, but they know I'm impatient and don't want to wait any longer.

Good luck!
It's hard to see in a thumbnail, but every time I see your picture I think of this actress, who was in Ever After. I couldn't find a picture that looked similar to the image in my head.
the celery in your signature made me laugh. I normally have them turned off, but I clicked on your picture to see if it was larger in your profile.

huh, never did the Clomid challenge, but also did a couple of cycle with Clomid, trigger and IUI. I didn't get cysts from those cycles since they were BFN's but injecatables and au'natural gave me huge cyst when I got my BFP's
Think I may ask about it when I go next cycle.
Good luck!

What happened with the IVF trials? Did that work out for you or no?
With FSH of 1.8 do you even need the clomid challenge? 1.8 is pretty amazing! I passed the clomid challenge with FSH of 9.8 then 8.3 Only 2 months later for it to spike up to 16.
I have heard of girls getting pregnant with the Clomid challenge - I hope you are one of them!

The IVF trial isn't enrolling right now, but the girl in charge told me to keep checking in with her every week or so bc they are waiting for clearance from the drug company to open up more slots.
My doc wants me to do the clomid challenge for 2 reasons - bc my estradiol was high on my last CD3 which could be masking an FSH problem, and bc they want to push my O back since I have O'ed too early for pregnancy during my last 2 cycles. As the nurse said to me on the phone today, "We are going to do the clomid challenge and help get you pregnant this month".
I've always felt like I had a weak O bc I've only gotten pg during soy cycles, so maybe this will be my magic pill. We'll see!!!
Missy do they keep checking your FSH? Just wondering bc it can vary so widely from cycle to cycle as you know.
