It might be something that is nothing to think on or worry about but I have now since July gone through 3 cycles of 50mg of clomid, 1 blood draw for checking progesterone check and it was 8, then 1 cycle without hormone and the progesterone was .7. Then following for 3 cycles I have taken 100 mg of clomid and the first cycle another progesterone blood draw and the result was good so I would guess it was around 15 and up. Now nothing has happened on the pg side. I am a little frustrated but it could be that we did not time it.
Any insight from ladies that have taken clomid when the ovulation really happens??
I have a consultation appt with my obgyn on feb 24th to see what should be done next or figure out what is going on to why it is not working right.
Thanks for "listening"

Hi Lovisa -
It does not sound like you are being monitored during these clomid cycles. Is your doctor doing ultrasounds and mid cycle blood draws to see how you are doing and if follies are growing? Have you done the trigger shot at all to help you ovulate? Are you going to an RE or just an obgyn?
((hugs)) it is very frustrating trying month after month and not getting pregnant.

Not monitored much at all. The last progesterone draw was day 21 on the first cycle when I started with 100mg clomid and when I called and got the result they said it was good and continue what I am doing. I am just not sure but the doc is good outside of of not recommending checking all of it. The blood draw of progesterone that check ovulation is the only thing that has been done and they said I ovulated. I do not want to spew my frustration but should I push for having him monitor me more or should I try to find another doctor?

What is your insurance situation like? Do you have good health care coverage?
Honestly, you should go get a different doctor sweetie. Clomid can be a great thing or a bad thing but you don't know unless you are checked out while taking it.

I have insurance but I have to look at what they cover. I have never got a trigger shot. I will have to consider another doctor after my consultation. I will have questions prepared for him and see what he says. Thank you for your support.

Look into what your insurance covers and see if you can go to an RE.
At minimul with the clomid you should have a few ultrasounds done mid cycle to see if the clomid is actually working and you have follies growing or not. Some people do not respond to clomid and you would never know without checking via ultrasound. The trigger shot is an hcg shot that makes your body ovulate. In this case, it makes the timing of BD much more accurate as you will ovulate right around 36 hours after the shot. Are you using OPK's at all?
I hope you get pregnant soon!

I'm sorry that you haven't had any luck yet, Lovisa I agree that it sounds like you should get a new doctor, and probably a RE (reproductive endocrinologist). You really should be monitored to make sure that your follicles and lining look good and so that you can better time BD. I will be thinking of you!

I agree with Nicole, you should find an RE. They will take really good care of you.

what the other girls have said. Definitely look into seeing an RE - they specialize in all of this stuff, and will pretty much do anything you want to help you get to the end goal. Also, at least in my area, the office staff researched my insurance coverage and gave me a packet outlining exactly what my insurance covers and what it doesn't, and the prices of everything I may need to pay for out of pocket (SA, IUI, etc). That really reduces the stress level.
