Ok sorry for bursting out my rant on here, but I am having a bad, no make that terrible day. My grandfather has been in hospice care for the last couple of months, and it looks like his time is going to be here sometime this weekend. I am close to him, but not as close as I was to my grandmother who passed away 1 1/2 years ago. I am still mourning her.

Anyway, my sister informs me last minute that she is going down to see him. (In Louisiana about 3 hours away from us now) My whole family lives in that general area and I wanted to go too. We have 3 dogs though so we will need to board them. Also, when I talked to my father last night, he got really upset that I wanted to head down there to see him before he passed. At the time of my grandmother's death I was living in Las Vegas, and I did not make it in time. she passed the night before I left. Anyway, he was upset because I have a "house" to run and blah blah blah. As if my husband was incapable. So we were going to play it by ear. Well today my sister called my cell about an hour ago yelling at me for not being home and not answering my cell. I was at an appointment and my cell did not ring once. I know this because I had it on me the whole time and it did not have any missed calls. She told me to call my dad but would not tell me why, and then she hung up on me. So I panic thinking that he had passed so I call my dad only for him to ask my why wasn't I coming down. Also, why don't I ever answer the phone. Seriously?!?!?!?!?

SERIOUSLY?!?!?!?!!? ARGH!!!

All I have to do this weekend is make sure I hit up an art gallery for a school assignment due Wednesday and be back before 4 on Sunday. I think I can do that. Geez. My family pisses me off sometimes.

I just needed to rant. I am seriously upset right now.

I'm sorry your family is frustrating you, and I'm so sorry about your grandfather. I think you should do whatever you want to do though

I'm sorry about your grandfather. Don't you love it when someone tries to call you in a short time frame, and get pissed you don't answer, without thinking that maybe you are busy?? Family can drive you crazy! Have a safe trip down to see your grandfather.

Thanks ladies. We did end up heading back home to Louisiana for just the day on Saturday. He did not look too good then, but I was glad we went. He passed away today around 4:30 pm. We had to come back home for my son's first soccer game today, and I got the call about half way through the game. My dad is going to let me know when the funeral is tomorrow, as the funeral home is closed today. It was just his birthday on the 17th too. He was 84 years old.

Sorry I did not respond right away to anyone as I was not home, but I appreciate all the responses. He was my last living grandparent, but at least now he can keep my grandmother company in the afterlife.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your grandfather. I'm glad you got the chance to see him one more time. I can totally relate- I lost all 3 of my grandparents within a year of each other, with my grandfather passing away last October.

Thanks ladies. Even more bad news though. My dad has liver problems (he is on the transplant list) which can lead to internal bleeding with any amount of stress. I got a call this morning around 6am to tell me that he was rushed to the hospital by ambulance late last night and brought into emergency surgery for internal bleeding again. He is currently in ICU and will have to undergo a 2nd surgery tomorrow. He will miss his father's funeral on Wednesday.

I don't know how to take all this bad news in so little time. I am not doing so well.
