Question about 1st AF after D&C

My normal period is 4-6 days with the longer ones including a couple days of spotting. (Yep, I count those days!) So has anyone else had an obnoxiously long period after a D&C? I'm day 6, no letting up yet, and blood literally poured out of me earlier. Only time that's ever happened is after birth with me. I heard this period might be heavier, but this is ridiculous!

Symptoms are also horrible this round. Full blown nausea, headaches, backache, bad fatigue, and I won't even get started on my bb's. I seriously thought I had a "whoopsie" up till the day I started AF. =P

My first AF after my D&C was HORRIBLE! I had horrible bleeding, cramping and clotting and it lasted awhile. My doctor told me this was normal because I hardly bled at all after my D&C. HUGS! I hope it lets up for you soon. If you start bleeding too much I would call the doctor and get checked just in case.

I hardly bled after mine either. Stopped before I even left the hospital, not an hour after I woke up. Maybe that's it. I am clotting a lot this time as well.

YES!!!
My periods were normally 3 days and pretty light. My first one after D&C was about 6 days and a good 5 of the days were really heavy. The next one was a tiny bit better but still almost as long.

Same here, it lasted a good week, when normally it's over after 4 days.

That's good to know! =) Mine is going heavy then stopping then starting and stopping. I woke up with nothing yesterday, and by the afternoon it was pouring. All of this makes me want to be pregnant all the more. I hate AF! lol

I am having my first cycle after my D&C and my cramps and backache are soooo bad. I never have pains like this. My periods are usually 3 days and very light. This time it is much heavier. I am glad I am not alone. I barely bled after my D&C as well.

Here's to getting over our first period and moving on to TTC again

If the blood is pouring out, you should call a doctor. They may have missed something in the D&C.

If it was really bad I would have. It was a one time gush. (kind of like my vajayjay was peeing if that makes sense) Today I'm down to that barely there brown spotting. Think this AF is done! I hope next AF is more normal.

He did miss something initially. 2 weeks after the surgery I passed a sizable piece of placenta. I had been slightly spotting off and on up till then. I O'd on time if I counted the D&C as CD1. I was afraid I would be O'ing 20 days after that placenta dropped out, but it was just a few days later.
