Hi ladies! I'm new around here and I have a question..
I first got pregnant in '08 and had no problems at all, my son is now almost 2.
I got pregnant while NTNP last month, got my BFP Jan 18th but miscarried naturally on the 23rd at exactly 5 weeks :-( I was shocked because I just didn't expect it. My SO took it very hard and wanted to try right away to get pregnant again. at first I was on board but decided maybe we should wait till after summer.. well we tried using condoms once and it broke anyway, go figure lol so we just threw caution to the wind and haven't used anything since. I have yet to have my AF since the loss. I know my OB told me (well first of all to wait after the first cycle lol) but also that it COULD be normal and come 4 weeks later or it could take up to 8 weeks to get my AF.. well if this was "normal" I would be expecting it today..
I'm sooo bloated and my bbs are sore but that could be AF symptoms.. but no cramping yet..
I guess my question is how long did it take you all to get AF after a loss.. and what are the chances of being pregnant again right away?
If I don't get AF by the end of the week I was thinking about testing just to know lol would a real BFP show or could it still be residual?

thank you all for the help :-)

Well, that was a very early loss and it's very very possible to get pregnant before you get AF...I have seen it many times. Since your loss was early and you didn't seem to have any complications with your m/c I would go ahead and test....if it's positive than I would say you are pregnant again. You would need an ultrasound and possibly some blood work to date the pregnancy....

Good luck!

So sorry for your loss.

I am still waiting for my first AF since our loss by D&C on Jan 17. I wish I could help.

Hopefully you test and will see a nice BFP!!!

Welcome to the board. I agree with Julie (dreamer10). It very well could be that you are pg again. I would take a test and if it is positive I would call your doctor and get in right away.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Welcome to TTCAL. I also had a m/c in January (on the 3rd), and never got AF again. I had some nausea on Feb 5th, so I tested again and it was positive. Since I had taken a hpt about a week after my loss and knew it was basically negative (there was still the faintest line, but barely) and this new line was much darker, I was pretty sure I was preggo again. I go to my appointment tomorrow to confirm. I would recommend that you call your OB if you test and it is positive. They can do serial blood work to confirm if it is a new pregnancy (I opted not to do that for various reasons). Good luck!

Welcome to the board! I'm sorry for your loss. I had a loss at around 4 or 5 weeks and got pregnant before AF (lost that one, but at 9 1/2 weeks).
So definitely possible.

thank you all.. I'm really trying not to get my hopes up and was trying hard to not mention it to SO to get his hopes up but i did lol I couldn't hold it in anymore..
I've had some dull cramping today on and off so i'm getting a little anxious. I had cramping with both of my pregnancies, which is good and bad... I will probably end up testing tomorrow if AF doesn't come today, i don't think I can wait any longer lol

I don't know how you're holding out. What about calling your OB's office to set up a beta and check to see for absolutely sure. Did they follow you after your loss until you hcg reached zero? That would tell you for sure if it is/was residule now.

AF is definitely late the first cycle to up to six cycles post loss, so it's normal to be abnormal in length right now.

I've really very sorry tho sweetie and welcome aboard!
