Do you plant flowers? Yes
Is there anything you plant every year? Marigolds since they are relatively maintenance free, but generally I got for perennials (peony, iris, tulips) because I am cheap.
Do you like working in the flower bed? In spring when it's cool, yes. In summer, no.

plants die when I touch them so no, I do not plant a garden. My mother however has a green thumb and has beautiful gardens in both of her homes.

Here is our home/flowers from last year (I think everyone should be able to see these whether or not you are my friend on FB):
Our Home/Flowers/Etc. | Facebook
We worked on our yard a lot last year! We landscaped the flower bed in front of that little white fence and planted so many nice things. I love it! I can't wait to see what comes back up this year. My favorite flowers are our hydrangeas and josephs coat roases. Also can't wait for our weeping cherry tree to bloom. Right now it is kind of small.
OH and I also love our moss roses....we have those growing in a really cool halved whiskey barrel.
I love our yard...we have so many plans for things we want to do. We just need the $ to do them. I can't wait to build the gazebo we want.

Missy - THANK YOU!
We put so much work into it. I am hoping we can do some more this summer. Just praying everything we put out (or most of it) comes back this year. We tried to plant things that come back every year with the exception of maybe a couple of plants.

I hate working in the flower beds. I'll weed them and clean them out but I do not plant anything. I hate hate hate frogs and worms. There are tons of those blasted little green tree frogs in my flower beds. My mom is wonderful and planted everything for me. My favorites are my tulips. They've come back up but don't have the blooms on them yet.

This is our first year owning our house so I haven't had the chance to really plant flowers yet. I'm not sure what we'll do since the landscaping is boring but perfectly maintained right now, and this is a temporary house (and we are poor ) so I'm not sure how much money I want to put into flowers.

I love gardening. I plant whatever is beautiful . I love your yard Melissa. I should look and see if I have pictures of my front yard. I have a weeping Cherry in the front yard and a flowering plum for the back yard. I love pansies. I planted some Hydrangas but last year they didn't bloom. I hope they do good this year. My kids have destroyed my lilacs and my lace leaf maple. They also broke the branches off my ginko tree . They are so destructive. I think this year I will just work on the front yard. I love planting in boxes and getting things that drape. I also get two hanging baskets, one for each side of my porch. Sometimes they make it and sometimes they don't . Wow that was long sorry.

This is my first year of flowers. I redo my front flower beds each year as I learn what I like and what I don't like. I will have to check my other computer for last year. I can't wait to start planting this year. Last year I planted to early. I am going to try to plant in April. I planted the last two years after my m/c. The flowers made me feel better with all the color. I also changed the beds when they overgrew. Bottom picture is the first flowers that got to big and covered the walkway.

We rent and do not have a place to plant flowers. I do have two house plants. We are going to put two hanging baskets out front and DH is going to build me a flower box.

Nicole - go to Home Depot or Lowes and buy the "sprinkle flowers"... They are flowers in a can and you sprinkle them in dirt and then flowers grow. I even made it happen one year and only spent about $20!

Missy, I love the picture of the little bird getting his nom on
And Jessi, those are great accents up your walkway! They really brighten things up!
We don't have a yard since we're in an apartment complex. We could do window boxes I guess, but we never have. When we get a yard I really want to do some veggies, maybe some herbs. I'd love to be able to enjoy things that I grow and share fresh food with the people I love.
