After asking my OBGYN about clomid and what else I could be doing, she suggested the following game plan (need tips, advice):
Another SA for DH (it's been 3 months since his varicocele repair surg).
a saline sonogram.
another round of bloodwork (last done in Sept)
a Cystic Fibrosis screen
clomid (possibly)

1. anyone have any stories about the saline sonogram to share? how does it compare to the HSG (which I had a few months ago).

2. am I the only one who did get tested for cf?

We're going ahead with the SA, waiting to hear about cost of SS, and then we'll see.

(TTCAL in Sept. total 18 months no baby.)

thanks to all who weigh in XoXo

Had to go google a saline sonogram.
Never had it done, as I did hte hysterscopy/laproscopy. but sounds like a mimnimully invasive way of getting info!

I am pretty sure my RE tested for CF, I think they tested for everything under the sun.
Are you seeing a regular OB or an RE?

Just on OB, but recently, she's contacted a RE, who is telling her what to do before referring us to him. I had a HSG too. Thanks for the info!

Are you talking about a sonohis? I had one done. Compared to the HSG I heard it is a piece of cake. The doctor put saline inside a balloon and monitored my insides via ultrasound. The whole procedure took about 20 minutes. It was crampy but did not hurt.

I had the saline u/s done. It was really not bad at all. Take a couple of advil an hour before hand. It just felt like a pinch. I did bleed afterwards so be prepared for that but otherwise it was a piece of cake. It only took a few minutes.

I've never had a saline u/s so I can't help you there.

I was tested for CF but only because my cousin has a baby with CF and turns out it runs in the family. Once I tested positive for the carrier gene DH was tested but he is fine so we are not at risk. It was just a simple blood test.

Good luck.

I haven't had a saline sonogram, so I can't help with that.

I think I was tested for CF while I was pg with our angel, but I'm not entirely possible.

Whatever you decide to do,

I had a saline u/s after my first m/c. I had a little bit of pinching but nothing else. I think the whole test took about 20 minutes.

Thanks ladies for your input! it's good to know the saline sono isn't a biggie. the HSG I had made me so anxious. on day 21, and DH and I DTD an insane amount of times this week, so we'll see. I keep putting off expensive tests, hoping for a bfp! <3

I totally understand, the tests ran us about broke! Have they found anything at all?
