I have been taking Baby Aspirin to TTC and had to schedule a minor surgery (not fertility related) for the end of next month. I have to stop the BA 7 days before surgery. If I O per my usual CD 13 or 14, I would have to stop my BA on about 8 dpo. Do you think I should just skip the BA the whole cycle, stop at 8dpo, or try to reschedule the surgery? I would rather not reschedule but will if the general consensus is that it is the best option I will see if that is possible for the surgeon.

Any advice/input would be appreciated.

Hmm I'm not sure but I would not take it right before the surgery. I would honestly consult your doctor (OB) and see their opinion. You wouldn't want to have the surgery if your pregnant at 8dpo either.... G/L and KUP!

Ooooh thats a tuff call. I would definitely talk to your dr. about this. Although the BA is pretty benign (81mg), usually stopping it the day before, its out of your system...but definitely get a second opinion on this.

I would be either with a BFP (14 or 15 dpo) or AF would be coming along for the surgery.

I also wondered how horrible it would be to just take it longer until BFN on 11 or 12dpo and then stop despite their 7 day request. Like Lori said, I figured it would be out of my system in a day or two otherwise, why would I need to take it daily, you know?

Why can't anything be easy? LOL

I would also talk to your doctor about it. If you have to have surgery, maybe the best thing would be to take off that month from TTC (horrible, I know). Or maybe you could reschedule so that the surgery would be before O and wouldn't affect anything? I hope your doctor has some suggestions.

Even though it seems like it would be fine to only stop a day or two before surgery, I don't suggest that. Even something as simple as baby aspirin could interfere with anesthesia if they're putting you under, and there are tons of things that doctors are trained to consider that we have no idea even exist. I'd suggest either not TTC this cycle, TTC this cycle and stopping the BA when he said you should, or rescheduling the surgery, depending on the urgency of the procedure and your doc's availability. If you get pregnant, you probably won't be able to have the surgery for quite a while, so it might be best to just sit out a cycle I know that sounds awful, and I wouldn't want to do it either, but the timing just doesn't work out well Good luck figuring things out, I hope you're able to come to a conclusion you can be happy with!
