I HATE how there is this one week of every month where I have to put all my plans on pause until I go to my dumb u/s and find out when I have to have my dumb IUI
I am supposed to babysit for two different families all day Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of next week, but I had my follie u/s today, so I had to tell them both that I may need to make a doctor's appointment on one of those days but I wouldn't find out until today. Well, they are both fine with it, but they both said they hoped I was okay. I said I was, but they are also friends, so I started to get concerned that they were going to freak each other out about whether something was wrong with me.
So I go in today, and turns out I need my IUI on Monday morning and I definitely want an acupuncture appt sometime on Monday to help with the cramping. I emailed one of the ladies to tell her I had to make 2 appointments on Monday but could work either X or Y hours. And she wrote back and was definitely worried about my health, so I had to tell her not to worry, it's just for fertility treatments.
Then we are going out of town to visit our new nephew this weekend, and are staying at MIL and FIL's house, and of course we have to bring the trigger shot that has to be refrigerated and do the shot at their house on Saturday. They are definitely going to ask what's going on and DH HATES talking about it, so I don't know what he's going to say.
Ugghhhhh, why can't it just be my stupid business?????

That's hard. And realistically when it's people you're close to, and you care about each other, they're gonna ask. So IUI Monday, huh? I'm starting the countdown and you haven't even O'd yet So you get the trigger shot Saturday and the IUI Monday? I don't know why, I thought it would be closer together. How long does it take from the trigger to O?

My RE does the IUI 36 hours after the trigger, which is right when you should be ovulating. So I will do the trigger Saturday at 9 pm, and IUI will be Monday at 9 am.
Don't start the countdown yet! It's long enough with a 16 day luteal phase!

How about you tell the inlaws that you are volunteering for a university study regarding how long the effects of truth serum work. Then you could spend the entire night telling them how you really feel and not feel bad about it. LOL Just kidding! But that is probably the kind of fun story I would try to come up with.
Good luck with your IUI. I hope this is the one for you!

I hope the IUI goes well! It is hard when everyone is in your business. I hope you find some way to tell them. Our family knows what we are going through but that is because our family is insanely nosy!!!

Good luck!!!
What about a small cooler with an ice pack? you could take an extra one and stick it in the freezer and claim sore muscles.

LOL Courtney, or I could tell them that I got bit by a radioactive spider and I have to take this medicine to avoid becoming SpiderWoman
Missy, I had one follie at 20 mm, so it should be ripe by tomorrow. I am planning to BD tonight and Monday night... I want to give DH's swimmers a little longer to recover before the IUI cause his numbers were low last time.
Maria, that's a good story Somehow I don't think I could pull it off!
Thanks, Caitlin I don't mind telling the in laws, but my DH likes to be more private, so I am trying to give him that. My family knows because they are really nosy too

I'm sorry that you have to go through all that, Nicole. I hope this weekend trip does the trick and you don't have to go through this another month.

Thanks, girls!
We ended up bringing my shot in a cooler full of ice, leaving it in the car, and then smuggling it in when I needed to do the shot. It worked out great! Now we have the IUI in the morning, and I am dreading it. I have come to the realization that I do not like getting up at 5 in the morning so I can go get inseminated
