I was going to wait it out but scared it would happen when I was home alone with my daughter or in the next couple weekends when I am photographing weddings.... would not be fun to have a nice gush happen right in the middle of the cermony or something.
So I called Friday and had them send in for the pill. I was to take 1 orally at night and 1 orally the following morning. It is now Sunday morning and nothing has happened no cramps no spotting or bleeding.. NOTHING.
So I wonder if it just did not work or going to take more time? How long did it take to work for you?
If you have taken this before what was your exeriance????
The baby stopped growing almost 2 weeks ago DR said I was already dilating and the baby had started the proccess or breaking down (it did not look like a baby just a black mass of tissue laying at the bottom of the sac.)
I am going to try and poke my head in here every now and then because I miss you all but the pregnancy updates and BFP's are a little to much to handle because I am kinda in the anger stage.
Hubby had said no more but Friday night started to talk to me about it and said if I keep myself in this good mental state and keep my head up and not go into a deep depresion and quit taking care of my daughter then he is done... but he said he is willing to let me keep going as long as I wish.
So as of now June's Cycle I will start TTC again. There is warning with this drug I took to wait 1-3 months because of possible birth defects so I have to wait for that time to pass. .... really upsets me I took it and nothing happen and now I have to wait even longer.
I am posting this here because it seems to be a bigger group of people who have been in my shoes than post in the loss group.

I'm so sorry for your loss honey
I took misoprostol (also called cytotec) to help me because my body wasn't letting go. I was instructed to insert it vaginally. Maybe you can ask whether that is an option for you? About 5 hours after I insert the pills I started feeling pain. It was really bad and the tylenol 3 wasn't helping. Later I found out they should have prescribed me something stronger. In any case, I passed tissue and thought I was in the clear but a follow up u/s showed I hadn't passed everything so I ended up having a D&C which also did not work totally. So then I tried the miso again but apparently there wasn't enough retained product in my uterus for the miso to stimulate my uterus to contract. Eventually it all came out naturally.
I guess you can ask them whether you can take it vaginally, I think it might be a better option. But if you try miso again make sure you have some strong pain killers on hand (like stronger than tylenol 3) just in case.

I would call the doctor on Monday for sure. I would probably ask and see if you can get more pills and do them vaginally. I am sorry they did not work for you right off

I took misoprostol and was instructed to insert them vaginally, it was 3 pills and after a week I had to take another dosage (another 3 pills). I would ask your doctor if you can do them vaginally.

Lindsey,
I'm so sorry that you're going thru this anger stange of grief and that the pain is so strong. It's never easy. Period.
I took cytotec, I can't remember if it was 3 or 4 pills but I took them all at once. Ended up taking a second dose a day or two later depending on how it was working. It can and will kick things into high gear. Like a mini labor. I would call them back and see about getting another dose or a higher dose.

You know when the darkness does start to come out, you can absolutely come here anytime and we will help you with it! I'm glad DH is okay with you guys trying again, I know how much you want to add to your family. I don't know anything about the pills, I just wanted to say that I hope you figure it out soon. The loss itself is bad enough, but this waiting and uncertainty? I'm sorry

Oh, btw, I didn't have to wait until after I had gotten AF. So I don't know why they told you that you'd have to wait up to 3 months. 1 month should be sufficent.

Also wanted to add, I took the misoprostol and it said you need only wait 1 month before TTC.

As far as waiting a few months to TTC after taking cytotec:
I think that is probably mainly for people who take it regularly. I don't think taking them once or twice is really going to affect things all that much. Our doctor said we could TTC as soon as we felt able to last time. I think waiting until you have atleast one AF is a good precautionary measure in any situation though.

When I was looking up Cytotec while waiting for my first miscarriage bleeding to start, there were a wide range of success and nightmare stories using it. Almost all of the successful stories were from people who applied 4 Cytotec tablets vaginally next to their cervix. If things still aren't moving for you, you might want to talk to your OB about the vaginal insertion. I hope things progress naturally by tomorrow, though. Sending many hugs your way.

The thing that came with my script said to wait at least 1 month or one full cycle before trying again. But Reading online all weekend I found anything from 1 month to 3 months... and hubby said 3 months because he does not want to take a chance. But who knows how long the wait is going to be until baby passes?
But it will work out in the end because every Feb my parents go to Florida and offered to pay for Maidson and I to go in 2012 so as long as I am less than 34 weeks I should be able to go... so holding off until June or July should put me about there.

I am not going to call.... I just dont want to hear the words "I think we need to just do a D&C". So I think I am just going to try to wait it out longer if I can. If I start to think I may becoming infected then I will call. I just cant keep paying $3500.00 out of pocket every 4 months for a D&C if I have to get another one I think that I will have to wait longer to have another baby or just quit all together.
I still owe $800.00 on the on from last October.

As long as you haven't started to bleed yet, there should be no reason your doctor should suggest a D&C. And if they did, you could always get a second opinion no matter what. As I said in your newer post, I think getting a second dose of the medicine (you shouldn't even need to go in and pay a copay for this, they should just call it in to your pharmacy) is your best option. Hugs, good luck!

I disagree with the bolded portion. Starting to bleed would actually be a good sign because it might mean things are moving along. If she DOESN'T start bleeding and carries on like this without passing her baby, that's when it becomes dangerous because of the increased risk of infection. So actually a lack of bleeding (after a while) would indicate a D&C is needed, unless she can try with miso again.
To the OP: I guess you can wait it out a bit.. but if you start getting a fever or odd discharge (my RE mentioned black discharge specifically) then you definitely need to get to a doctor because it means infection might have set in. Also, I don't see why you can't call your doctor now and ask for more pills. She can't FORCE you to have that D&C, it's always up to you in the end. Or could you maybe go to PP or something other organization and get it that way? I don't know if they have it or not, it's just an idea.
