So this is a little update on the post I created a few weeks ago with title Baby Blues. Anyway so I went to my doctor on Feb 24th 2011 and discussed what to do next as the 3 cycles of 100mg of clomid did not do the trick. He explained to me that the cm becomes tough to penetrate almost like cement for the swimmers. He then gave me a supply of a progesterone pill that is low dose that I should take for 10 days after I have taken clomid for 5 days first. So clomid following directly with the progesterone pills. This should help the cm to become more inviting and easy to get through for the swimmers. I will keep you updated on the progress.

Hmmm aren't the swimmers already through the CM if you do the progesterone after the Clomid?

Are you taking the progesterone before you are ovulating? If so, it can actually hinder the process and make it so you do not ovulate at all! I would suggest mucinex or preseed in place of that. What dose of progesterone are you taking?

It is 1.25 mg but I have not taken it yet. I will start after my AF starts on the 3rd day thru day 7 then on day 8 I will take enjuvia (synthetic estrogene) the 1.25mg. The CM the doc said is harder when you just take clomid for a period of time. So he said that it would loosen up the CM to be more accepting of the swimmers. I could also try preseed as well but I have not gotten to go purchase it yet. The progesterone pills were free to me as doc gave me 21 day supply.

What are your progesterone levels normally before you o?

It is very true that clomid can create a hostile CM environment (especially when taking it for a long time) but the progesterone concerns me. However, it is a very low dose (I take 200 mg after o) so maybe it will be what does the trick!

Good Luck, I hope you get pregnant this cycle!

I am not sure that I really know what it is before I o but from the results on the progesterone blood draw on CD21 with 100mg clomid is in the 15 and up range - I did not get the exact number from doc but without clomid at all it is like .8 and with 50mig was 7.5 or something like that.

Good luck Lovisa! I hope it's just what you need to get your BFP! I've never heard of it so I'm anxious to see if it helps you.

Sounds like the 100mg of clomid is what you need! I hope you get pregnant, keep us updated. I find this a very interesting course of treatment.
