Hey, So I finally just started a new cycle after 40 days! I have never used OPK's before but ran out and bought the Answer 20 pack yesterday. What day of my cycle should I start testing, and at what times?. I don't want to go through too many, but I don't want to miss O either.

Thanks, Lindsey

How long are your cycles usually, and how consistent are they? And do you have any idea when you might expect to O?

My cycles are usually 28-31 days, not very consistent, last cycle was 30 days and now this one was 40. I think that I usually O any where from CD14-20, based on CM and cramping. I'm all over place, lol.

I have an average 31 day cycle and I usually O anywhere from cd12 to cd19. I start testing at cd10 just to be safe.

Can you go and return the answer opk's? It has been my (and many others) experience that they do not work correctly. They will give you false positives and then not give you positives when they should. You may as well not use OPK's.

If you want a store brand, use Clearblue easy (the line brand is much cheaper than the smileys).

If you have the time to wait a few days for IC's to come in, this brand works awesome and is very cheap.

Amazon.com: Wondfo One Step Ovulation (LH) Test Strips, 50-Count: Health & Personal Care

Here is an example:

I got a clear smiley on the clearblue and a negative on the answer brand.

I don't have any experience with the Answer ones, but I use the ones from that link and the Clearblue smileys, and they're both awesome. I usually use the "cheapies" by Wondfo, then when I get a positive there, I back it up with a digi. If I'm right every time, a box lasts me 7 months I think this box of 7 is probably going to last me 5. Those cheapie ones on Amazon are GREAT, and if you want, you can buy a mixed bag of OPKs and pregnancy tests, or you can buy them separately.

I also used to always start at CD10, and I had irregular cycles, too. I just didn't want to miss it.

I bought a pack of 50 from that link and Erin - Great find! They work just as great as the smiley face ones and the money saved, well it makes me feel less guilty about being a poas addict. Also there was no doubt they are positive like on some other tests. Thanks so much.
