Coying this from the Oct ddc.
Again, I went to the er for light pink spotting and some cramping. I have not spotted since last Sunday/Monday........so I knew I would go crazy waiting till Monday for my official u/s.
The u/s tech sucked this time and would not even let me sit partially up to look at the screen, she was a real bi***! I saw the screen from a horrible angle, my head all crooked to one side, and was able to see the yolk........then I saw her put the little markers next to it and measure something (I knew she was measuring the fetal pole at this point) Then she had me hold my breath several times, so I thought she was looking to measure the h/b, but she would not say a frikn word! Ive been down that road before, and I knew it could go either way.
20min later the ER dr came in and said "Well we have a heartbeat!" It was 123bpm and I measured exact to date yesterday at 6w2d. They did find a tiny 5mm bleed by the sac where the baby implanted, and this is probably why Im spotting. Im just glad they finally found a reason why. I have another u/s Monday at around noon, and will see how the bleed measures then, hoping its the same or smaller. Its pretty tiny for a sch, so that is the good news. Hopefully it resolves itself soon......either way I know they will follow up every 1-2 wks with u/s's to see if its gone, so I will get to see baby a little more.
I feel so blessed. Its still early in the game, and my heart will stay on the fence until around 11wks or so, but I do feel much better!
3/7 U/S: Everything looks great still. Measuring to date again, 6w4d, h/b of 131bpm. The u/s tech was SO NICEEEEEEE!! I got a pic, will post it when I get home. She answered all my questions and showed me where the bleed was, and that it was very small. She said the spotting/cramping was normal with this and not to worry, that all looked real good. So I guess I just got to get used to this! Hopefully the dr. will tell me how long to expect these symptoms....I will hopefully talk to him this week and I have my first ob appt. scheduled for 3/25. Thanks for all your support here again, I dont know what I'd do without it!

YAY YAY YAY for a heartbeat! I hope the spotting stops and the bleed resolves itself quickly so you can be more at ease (as much as you can for the first trimester).

I even told her, "listen, Im 40, I have 5 kids, 11 pregnancies, there is nothing that will shock me, just let me look and I wont ask questions, I know what a yolk, fetal pole, empty sac, m/c looks like on u/s." She just said NO!
Hopefully I will get a pic tomorrow......its radiology though, so I would not be surprised if they treated me like last night. I might just ask if Im allowed to look at the screen, if they say no, I may just cancel the appt right there and walk out. Have a talk with dr. and tell him to let them, let me see the screen. Then again, Im a bit of hormones right now, so unless they cater to my every whim, they are all the big B word!

Tell them who's boss! I would seriously scream at all of them. Us A type personalities
This lead me to look up the defination of Type A personality. Do you think we fit into this category?
The theory describes a Type A individual as ambitious, aggressive, business-like, controlling, highly competitive, impatient, preoccupied with his or her status, time-conscious, and tightly-wound. People with Type A personalities are often high-achieving "workaholics" who multi-task, push themselves with deadlines, and hate both delays and ambivalence.
In his 1996 book, Type A Behavior: Its Diagnosis and Treatment, Friedmantime urgency and impatience, which causes irritation and exasperation; and a competitive drive, which causes stress and an achievement-driven mentality. The first of these symptoms is believed to be covert and therefore less observable, while the other two are more overt. suggests that Type A behavior is expressed in three major symptoms: free-floating hostility, which can be triggered by even minor incidents;
Because of these characteristics, Type A individuals are often described as "stress junkies" by individuals with Type B or other personality types. Many successful business and political leaders have Type A personalities.

I am so glad there was a HB. I don't understand why some u/s techs/nurses have to be such b-holes about things.

Missy, when it comes to being a type A personality, Im all A as a mom, but as Ive gotten older, Im probably a B type with business and relationships. The older I get, the more mellow Ive become except with pregnancy, lol!
