Please forgive me ladies. I wanted to make sure everything was ok before I said anything. With the losts I have had I wanted to make sure everything was ok before I said anything. I got my BFP on Valentine's Day. I took a test early in the morning before work and there was a very faint line. Later on that day after I got home I took 4 different test just to make sure. All of them came back positive. I called Dh in the bathroom and had him look. I had my betta's drawn and they all came back good. I went in yesterday for our first ultrasound. Pumpkin is measuring 6 weeks and 5 days. Which is behind couple of days. This is where the question comes in. I got my smiley face on my OPK on Feb 2nd. I was going by that date to help figure our how far along I am. Which if you go by Feb 2nd yesterday I should have been 7 weeks 2 days. The tech was worried because pumpkin wasn't measuring that. The question is this. When you get a positive on an OPK it doesn't mean you are ovulating then right? It means that the OPK has picked up your LH surge which is before ovulate right? So I could have ovulate couple of days later which would make pumpkins dates correct. The tech picked up the heart rate right away. At first she said the heart rate was only 97 which is low. She said they like to have the heart rate above 100. She did take the heart rate again and she said the rate was a lot a better the second time she took it. I asked her what the rate was and she wouldn't tell me. She said it was to hard to rate. (I love my OB but I hate the ultrasound techs). She just blew me off. I know I do have a tilted uterus which makes it very hard to get a good reading when you aren't that far along. That is why I tried to wait until I was over 7 weeks to go in for an ultrasound. The tech said that my OB would probably want to do another ultrasound in a week to make sure everything was ok since the dates are off and pumpkins heart rate was low. She left my folder for my OB to look at and deceide what he wanted to do. My OB called me back to his office and looked at the scans. He said everything is looking good and he wasn't really worried about the heart rate. He said if Pumpkin is 6 weeks and 5 days the heart rate is always in the 90's. He does want another ultrasound next Friday to make sure Pumpkin is growing and the heart rate is going up. This is where the prayers come in. Please prayer that pumpkin keeps growing and the heart rate keeps going up. We have never made it this far before. The last time we went with our first pregnancy and I was 6 weeks the same tech could hardly see anything and couldn't see a heart rate. I am so happy that we were able to see pumpkin and able to see a heart rate this time around.
I feel real good about pumpkin. I feel like pumpkin is our rainbow baby.
Before this turns into a book here is a picture of pumpkin.
Which I had to beg for. She wasn't going to give me a picture.

Awesome news, Stacey!!!!!! How exciting!
You're right, you will ovulate a day or two after your positive OPK, so your bean should be right around 7 weeks.... the ultrasound measurements are not perfect and can be off by up to a week, so your u/s sounds like it was amazing!!!
I will be thinking of your little cutie- I can't wait for more pictures next week!

First off "CONGRATULATIONS"! Im sooo happy for you!
I got my smiley face on 2/2, 2/3 and 2/4. I actually o'd on 2/3. As of today, Im 7w2d. If you got your smiley on 2/3 you probably O'd on 2/4. Putting you one day behind me. If pumpkin measured 6w5d yesterday, you only measured 2 days off, wich is WONDERFUL!! I got my very first bfp the day before Valentines Day. So all of what your saying is lining up exactly how it should.
I will say a prayer for pumpkin's h/b to pick up..........just so you know, Mia was measuring 6w5d when I was 6w3d, and her heart beat was only 118. My RE was very concerned about it not being closer to 130's at that stage, but he was going off the fact that she measured 2 days ahead. In theory, she is just a very tall baby, I new my dates exactly and she just measured big, I was not due any earlier. If pumpkin is measuring just a couple days behind, he/she could just be a little one!
Hang in there, I know how hard it is, trust me. Saying all kinds of prayers for you!

Thanks Nicole. I know I am going to worry until next weeks u/s to see if pumpkin is still growin and the heart rate went up. I will post pictures as soon as we get back on Friday. The only person we told so far is Dh's mom. She is happy for us but at the same time she is upset because she is in the Assisted Living house. I told her I will bring the baby by a lot for her to see.
Thank you Lori for sharing your information and saying the prayers. It makes me mad that the tech wouldn't tell me what the h/b was the second time around. The only thing she would say is that was much better.

If the tech said it was much better, than most likely it was over 120, they have a "standard" they go by, and by her saying that, it most likely was pretty close to that. Hang in there and just know that baby's h/b fluctuate alot. The first reading could of just been when it took a dip. Very possible!!!

Thank you Lori. I am trying to relax. I know you understand how hard it is to relax. I will feel much better after I see pumpkin again next Friday.
We deceided to call this baby pumpkin since I am due on Holloween and my mom used to call me pumpkin.
I know the first baby we lost is watching over pumpkin. I had my u/s yesterday which was also my due date with peanut which was our first lost last year.

I am so happy for you! You probably didn't ovulate exactly on 2/2 which could be why Pumpkin is measuring a few days behind. Also, it could be because of your tilted uterus. Sometimes it throws measurements off in the early weeks of pregnancy. I'll be praying for you and Pumpkin. Grow, Pumpkin, grow!

I think things are probably just fine. This early in the game its hard to get a perfect measurement of everything. The bigger baby gets the better off you are....try not to worry and just enjoy every moment of this!

Thank you for the prayers ladies. I am trying not to worry and just enjoy that we have a heartbeat and everything looks good. I know I will be able to relax more after next Friday's u/s.
Jessica, it wasn't easy keeping my secert. Every time I signed on here I wanted to say something. I didn't check in on JM as much. I needed to see the heartbeat before I said anything.

Congrats hun.... Everything sounds great.... It is normal to worry about everything when being pregnant after a loss.. I don't know my dates, but judging when I thought I O'd my baby was measuring a wk off, and as I progressed through my pregnancy the baby got closer and closer to the date I had and now it matches up exactly with my 30 day cycle.. So hold your head up and hang in there.. It could just be a slow grower like mine.. It will catch up.. HUGS!!
