Ok guys,
So as some of you know, we are stationed in Japan ... The fertility center here has very limited english speaking staff, so when you call to ask questions... you.. well really can't get answers.. I have been going there since 2009 off and on ( took time off to save money for the next cycle, time off to heal from our loss, time off to calm down from hormones ) and I think I have done a total of 7 cycles there . They have never done an HSG for me over here and they never did one for me stateside when we were having fertility problems either . So, since Hubby has to go on this Rescue mission on the mainland of Japan , I was thinking I might get one done but I need to try and figure out how much it might cost and this is where I thought you ladies might be able to help me . So.. When I called to find out the costs(took about 30 mins and still got no clear answer) this is what I found out : the HSG is 125 plus everything else... When I asked what everythign else was she said well... ultrasound, office visit and.... but she did not know what if anything else.. So.. ladies... What else is there to an HSG ? If I know what the other parts are I can call back and get the different costs...
So far I know : HSG=125,Ultrasound=60,office visit= 55 ...... What else is there?? any meds? antibiotics they give you there? Normally if they don't have to give you meds there , you can pick them up from the naval hosp for free if they write you a script .. Please let me know... At this point.. If I dont get pregnant in June from the frozen IUI , I will have to go to an RE in the states and they wil make me RE-do the HSG anyway, so do you think it is even worth it to do one here? Thanks guys !!

I had an HSG done but I had a Laproscopy and Endo removal done all at the same time, so I'm honestly not sure what all they did for what. Hopefully the other ladies could be of more help

I had a HSG done but my insurance office covered it. I never saw a bill so I can't give you a breakdown. I am sorry I'm not help.

My HSG was covered by insurance as well. Perhaps this link can help Hysterosalpingogram, HSG Test for Tubal Infertility

The HSG itself is just you on a table... they inject the dye then and then take some Xrays. That was about it for me.

The costs for mine when I had it done would have been around $600 if I had it done at the office, but because of my insurance I had to have it done at the hospital so I basically got charged all of my doctor's fees and fees from the hospital and it ended up being $1200. I would make sure to get an accurate estimate before you have it done.

My insurance does cover it but I have to pre-pay it so to speak, send in the bill and then my insurance cuts me a check.. they will cover everything btu I just have to make sure I have enough to cover it.. thats why i was wondering if there was anythign else so i can call and ask what each little thing costs by it's self... they won't give me a total cost until after the test is done and I go to check out.. it's a real pain :-(

My insurance covered my HSG so I can't tell you the specific breakdown but in terms of meds, I was prescribed a dose of 4 antibiotics to take all at once before the procedure as well as a valium to take 1/2 hour before too.
