I called the RE today and scheduled my appt for April 4th. I thought it made sense to wait until after my March 30th follow up with the new OB so I could bring a copy of all the bloodwork I got done today. Now here's my question. What can I expect from the first appointment?

Information overload! At my first visit with the RE, we went over all of my history and basically got bombarded with the doctor's plan for testing and treatment. It is definitely a little bit overwhelming, so I would be prepared with a list of questions you have.... What about your symptoms do you want addressed? What in your history is bothering you? What might be the causes behind everything? What do the different tests involve and what do they tell you? What do the different meds involve and why is each indicated? How much will things cost?

Of course, you can always ask questions later if you forget about something I'm so happy you have this scheduled!

Thank you Nicole! I'm so happy I have it scheduled too! I can't even describe how good I've felt since meeting with the new OB and knowing I have a direction to go in now. I'll start writing down the questions that pop in my head now, because even though I think I'll remember when I get there I'll probably go blank. Thank you for a place to start.

Ditto! It will be total information overload. Bring a notebook with you so you can write things down and do not let the doctor/nurses control the conversations or plans of action. You will walk out of there with your head spinning but feeling very hopeful all at the same time.
