Now that I have finally passed the baby (WHEW that was the longest month of my life).
I am looking on to TTC again this summer.
Last time I was only taking a prenatal.

This time....
Dr put me on Metformin (500mg now and wants me to work up to 1000mg once my tummy gets adjusted)
Dr also wants me on Baby asprin

and Of course
prenatals
1000mg Vitimian D because my blood shows very low levels

I was going to add maybe antoher 800mg of folic to make 1600 a day.


So my question is I have not started the aspin or extra folic asprin..... When would I do that?
I think we are waiting until July to TTC because I want to take a free vacation with my parents in Feb and if I get pregnant before then and it sticks I will be to far along or just given birth to go. Plus I have always wanted a spring baby so I can go outside and enjoy the summer with it and If July hpt happens that will give me a April baby.

I don't know about everything you're taking, but my dr. told me to start taking prenatals and folic right away even when I wasn't going to be ttc for a couple months after my mc.

You can start taking the folic acid and baby aspirin now. Are you supposed to take the baby aspirin all cycle or just after O? Some people say it can delay O, but some people have no problem with it... I always took it after O to be safe, though. I really hope this is the mix that works for you

I don't think starting the aspirin now will hurt, but I'm also not sure if there's a benefit to starting it early... so maybe you can start it whenever you want

I would personally do the aspirin when your ready to ttc. I took it after O. I was taking it for 3 months straight while ttc with Mia and it was causing my eggs to over ripen and not come out. Then I just went to after O, and she was conceived the 2nd. month of that regimin. The folic acid and prenatels I would start now. Its good to have your system nice and healthy before conception. I was on them for over a year before conceiving Mia.

I am on Metformin. I take 1500mg a day. I am supposed to take them 3 times a day. I take them all at night though.

As far as the rest of the pills I think Lori gave you the best advise.

I agree with the other ladies. I would start the folic acid and prenatal now and wait until you are ttc for the baby aspirin. I hope this plan does the trick when you're ready!

The prenatals I have been on since Sept when I found out I was pregnant last time so I should have a good build up in that.

Ok so I will start on the extra folic now and wait until around O time to start the asprin.

I agree with Lori! It really does take your body awhile to get built up from taking the meds.

Stacey thanks for chimming on on this I am so sorry again I just so feel for you right now.

Are you on the ER metfromin? I am just on the regular so I think he wants me to do one in the morning and one at night. The last couple days it has not bothered me but I was also in the miscarriage process. Last night I took it with dinner but we had a really late dinner 8:30pm and I went to bed at 10:30 and 11:00 I got up in so much pain and from 11-1am I was stuck in and out of the bathroom and then again when I woke up this morning. I took some pepto and got my heating pad and that helped me get through the rest of the night.

I am on the regular metfromin. I found out my body adjust to it better if I take all of it at night before I go to bed. Less trips to the bathroom. Was your dinner full of rich foods?

My dinner was nice greesy fatty pizza...lol That might be why.
All I have eaten the last couple days is fast food cause I am not in the mood to cook and will probably be that way a couple more days.
My bledding is still off and on and the more I am on my feet the worse it gets.

I have found out if I my dinner is nice and fatty then I will wake up with pain and end up in the bathroom during the night or when I first wake up. I can understand about not wanting to cook. Dh and I are very lucky we have a good neighbor. She had two losses and she was one of the people we told that we were pregrant. She showed up yesterday with two dishes of food cooked. She said she was watching Paula Dean on tv and deceided to spend the day cooking. She said something told her to bring the dished over here. She came by not to long after I got home and I told her I lost pumpkin. She said see I was ment to cook today.

AWW that is very nice.
All of my real life friends have not really said anything to me or done anything.
My mom lives 2 hours away and works a full time job or she would come help me.
I am so glad I have the support of all my online friends.

My inlaws live 2 minutes up the road you would think they would call and see if I needed anything!!!!

I am very lucky I have Dh's family. Since my mom passed away I don't really have any family of my own. I wrote my mom's whole family off. Long story. Dh's family is always there for me and the friends that we did tell that we were expecting are onces that will support me no matter what. Although if we do ever try again and get pregrant again we are not telling anyone for a very long.

I dont get along with my inlaws and if the economy was not so crappy we would be moving closer to my parents.
My pregnancy last fall I never told anyone about besides my parents and I still lost it so now I just told people right away so I can enjoy it as little or as long as it lasts.
I have gotten more support by telling people than keeping it to myself.
But I know some people dont want to have to re tell eveyone the baby has passed.

I would start folic acid now, the longer you take it, the more it builds up...As for the aspirin, my doctor told me to take it all cycle, but the one cycle I did take it before O, my O was delayed...I'm not sure if that's what actually did it or not, but after that cycle I waited till after O before I started it....So you can probably do either way...Since you aren't ttc right away, you could try it to see what it does to your cycle...Good luck!

Even though I don't get along with Dh's mom I know she feels bad for us and she would be there for me during this time. Since we heard the heartbeat we told some close friends and I am glad we did. Although one of them just came over and he said congrats. Dh didn't get a chance to tell him we lost the baby and it just made me cry again. He felt so bad that he said anything.
