Warning After my first d&c I had this happen also and I ended up having a lot of problems. I only bled yesterday after the surgery and I passed one clot. When I was getting discharged yesterday the nurce said since my ob didn't do a lot of scrapping I could expect more bleeding and pass clots. I am not bleeding at all which is worrying me. My Ob did give me a pill to to help slow the bleeding down (its a pill they give mom's who just gave birth to help with their bleeding) I haven't taken that because I thought I was supposed to bleed.

I am having a lot of cramps that I have to take a pain pill to help manage them. I am making sure I am taking the antibotic so I don't end up getting infection again. I am just scared that I am not bleeding at all.

Stacey after my D&C she told me she didn't scrap me too much as well but I had very little bleeding more like spotting for that day of my D&C and that was all. I did cramp pretty badly for 4-5 days after it. Now when I got my first AF it was heavier and clotty so I would try not to worry to much about not bleeding. With that being said if you feel uncomfortable you can always call in and ask your doctor. Never hurts to ask a question.

My bleeding was off and on. They also warned me that would happen. That I would bleed then it would almost stop and then come back- which it did.
What pill did they give you? They also gave me one that makes your uterus contract down, which actually makes you bleed a little more at first.

Hope it all heals up quickly! Hugs!!

After my D7C, I bled (spotted, really) for only a day or two also. But my first period after the surgery was really bad and heavy with lots of clots. Lasted a few days longer than normal too.

After my D&C I blead at the hospital and almost none at home and then had real light pink spotting for a couple days (mostly when I was on my feet to long).
But I had BAD cramping for almost 2 weeks.
With this natural miscarriage its the other way around lost of bleeding and spotting but almost not cramping.

I would not compaire this to your first one at all because it sounds like that dr did a horrible job.

I dont think my DR did scraping because it was decribed to me to be all sucktion... but who knows.

The meds he gave me is Methergine 0.2 mg. It says this medication is used after childbirth to stop bleeding from the uterus. This drug works by increasing the rate and stregth of contractons and the stiffness of the uterus muscles. These effects help to decrease bleeding. Since I am not bleeding I haven't started this one yet. Now I have just very light spotting but I did go help Dh with the barn work.

Did you dr say anything about packing stuff in there? I don't know what it is exactly but my dr said she packed stuff in there to help it not bleed. I didn't bleed much at all at first but a couple days latter that packing came out and I bleed like a period for several days.

Please take the methergine. It will help your uterus contract and also help close your uterus so you do not get an infection. I have had 6 D&C's in my life and never bled more than slight spotting after any of them.

The cramping and pain is normal... Take the pain meds.

STAY THE HELL OUT OF THE BARN!! You should not be lifting anything right now or doing barn work... Want to end up back in the hospital? That is a good way to get there. Get back in bed and rest or go bake some cookies. Sorry if I sound harsh but right now I can't make the 3 hour drive to go visit you in the hospital.

Ok Sam and Missy I will take the Methergine. I was just worried about not bleeding. I did notice if I am up moving around to much I cramp more and I spot more.
The doctor didn't say anything about packing anything up here. I think he is scared to do anything.

Missy I am laying on the couch now and don't plan on moving to much. I might make some peanut brittle later.

That medicine increases your heart rate and blood pressure, so keep an eye on that.

I can't say much more than everyone has already said. I was also worried that I didn't bleed much after my D&C. I did have a heavier period than normal my first AF and it lasted longer but that was it.

Take it easy and rest.

Thank you Missy. I am sitting on the couch not doing that much. Although I do need to clean my mess up in the kitchen. I was making the peanut brittle and things didn't turn out ok. I used a plastic bowl in the microwave to melt the surgar and corn syrup and the bottom of the plastic bowl melted out and everything went on the floor.
